360 Black Screen of Death. Error code E74 Published by: hq_hacker_girl on Monday, November 07, 2005 Tagged: Hardware, Homebrew,
Agent21KGB posted the first picture of the Xbox 360 error/crash screen on our forums.
A bit similar to the original Xbox error screen, it asks to contact the Xbox Customer Support and gives an 'Error Number' to help identify the problem:
"So I went to the local Wal-Mart and walk on the 360 display and was like well I'll see If I can get a better look at this deal since few people were in the place. I turned the corner and found the Contact Xbox support screen. The xbox was blinking red and claiming error 74." |

Team Xecuter’s "360 RROD Fix" Review
By Joel Kuntz (frozenfire12) www.360-Hq.com
Supplier: www.Divineo.com
The guy's over at www.Divineo.com have recently given 360-Hq the opportunity to review "Team Xecuter’s RROD Fix" which can be used to fix most Red Ring Of Death (RROD) errors for the Xbox 360. Our review and associated tutorial is based purely on preventative measures for the RROD but we will make an educated guess on how well this will work for fixing the RROD itself since our team have fixed 100's of RROD machines. Thanks must go to our friends at www.Divineo.com for hooking us up.
To start the review we will first explain a bit of background information. If you are on the 360-Hq homepage click read more to check out the full review! |

  | Bungie: New Halo 3 Maps Coming | |
Bungie: New Halo 3 Maps Coming Published by: forahobby on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 Tagged: Gaming, Xbox 360,
Bungie developer's have mentioned that work is progressing on new maps for Halo 3.
Frank O'Connor "Work is progressing on new maps for future downloadable content, with the design and art teams vigorously engaged in the process. More entertainingly however, the ad-hoc test team of Bungie staff is enjoying these new maps greatly. My favorites are what I have already nicknamed Jodrell Bank and Moonbase Alpha.
I “invented” a game type on Jodrell Bank which is actually just Team Slayer with Swords and Snipers. Thanks to some unique geographical features of that map, it works great. Moonbase Alpha, on the other hand is best suited to objective games, like CTF and Assault, but it has some natural deadlocks that make Slayer interesting and Infection terrifying.
Which reminds me of one more downloadable map. The scariest map of all time. Dark, frightening and surprisingly enormous. One of the scariest things that has ever happened to me (and this in a lifetime fraught with terror) was racing away from a marauding gang of zombies in Infection atop a Mongoose, only to have one leap out of the darkness ahead and unseat me with a throaty scream. I call that level John Carpenter’s Prince of Dorkness. It’s not as catchy as Jub Jub, but it’s every bit as accurate."
There is no word when we will all be seeing this new downloadable content for Halo 3 but with internal teams already testing the new content it hopefully won't be long.

XviD & Divx coming to Xbox 360? Published by: JAy3k1 on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 Tagged: Gaming, Xbox 360,
The latest news floating around the web is that XviD and Divx playback will be coming to an Xbox near you soon...
It would seem Microsoft have announced at an event in Rotterdam called Mission 360 that there will be a firmware patch coming out in the next few months that will address the lack of support for these very popular video formats.
Also noted was that Microsoft want to release the Xbox 360 in a variety of new colours. Which is all well and good but I feel a little to late as i'm surely not going to go out and buy a new console just for a colour change.
Especially when there are some extremely nice 3rd party cases out there which I feel sure will blow away whatever Microsoft brings out . :)

Call of Duty 4: New Downloadable Maps - Sneak Peek? Published by: forahobby on Thursday, February 21, 2008 Tagged: Gaming, Live Marketplace, Xbox 360,
We all know Activision and Infinity Ward have been working on new Downloadable Content (DLC) and a patch for the hottest game of the year Call of Duty 4 but will all your hopes and dreams be answered with the next update??.
Now we are sure that you all have your own wish lists and fixes for "Call of Duty 4" but if some news sources are to be believed three (3) of the first new maps due will be easily recognized by most people who have played the single player campaign.
Below we will show you some un-confirmed pics of the multi-player loading screens from in-game which are rumoured to be the new upcoming maps (DLC).
Rumoured COD4 Maps:

With the release of the new PC editor I would say that these maps could be fake since anyone with a PC and the COD 4 map editor could make whatever they like. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
As always, for all the latest info on Call of Duty 4 stay tuned to 360-hq.com and track cod4 via our Xbox 360 Games Database.
A big thanks to "oStealthASSASIN" for the heads up..

  | Ace Combat 6 Joystick Bundle Announced | |
Ace Combat 6 Joystick Bundle Announced Published by: endless on Thursday, June 14, 2007 Tagged: Gaming, Hardware, Xbox 360,
Now I've been wondering with Ace Combat 6 on its way to release here shortly, was someone going to create a joystick for it? I love my flight sims like the rest of you, but being limited to a controller takes away that feeling of grandeur in performing aerial moves to line up that perfect shot on your adversary.
Well folks, there is indeed a joystick for Ace Combat 6 and its been released from Namco-Bandai.
I must say I’m not keen on the green, but that could easily be changed with some color modding. But just the fact that anyone that’s a flight sim buff will be able to use a joystick controller then the regular controller.

  | Format USB HDD for Xbox 360 to watch your DivX/XviD Movies | |
Format USB HDD for Xbox 360 to watch your DivX/XviD Movies Published by: forahobby on Wednesday, December 05, 2007 Tagged: Hardware, Homebrew, Xbox 360,
With the most recent dashboard update Microsoft has included DivX and XviD .avi file support on the xbox 360 but most of us here on 360-HQ.Com have still been wondering what's the best way to store all our media.
Sure, we tested our DivX and XviD files from DVD/CDR and usb sticks but we are thinking more long term here. Well, why not format a External USB HDD.. :)
Anyway, thanks to some nifty software from the guys over at www.mediafour.com called "MacDrive" we have successfully been able to format a NTFS USB Harddrive which would not work or be found by the xbox 360 to the HFS+ format.
Since most USB HDD's on the market are formatted in FAT32/NTFS we have found that if you format these drives to the HFS+ format there is no longer a 4GB file size limit like FAT32. Once your usb HDD is formatted as HFS+ it can then be used on the XBOX 360 for viewing HD WMV, DIVX and XVID files of any size and can also hold your mp3 collection and images.
For those of you who are interested Ozzy and I (forahobby) have written a small tutorial to help you all get the most out of your Xbox 360.
Format Any External USB HDD for Xbox 360:
http://www.360-hq.com/xbox-tutorials-60.html
This tutorial will explain how to format a External HDD drive into the HFS+ Format and enable it to be used on the XBOX 360 for viewing HD WMV, DivX, XviD, Mp3's and other supported content of any size. No longer is there a 4GB file size limit like FAT32.
