Introduction
This tutorial will show you how to backup/copy the Xbox 360 EEPROM & unique hard disk drive key using JungleFlasher. Every Xbox 360 console contains a unique hard disk drive key (HDD) and electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM). The whole process should take you anywhere from 20-30 minutes depending on your previous experience. The EEPROM and HDD key backup process will take approximately 10 minutes.
Things You'll Need
- Torx Screwdriver (Size: 7)
- Xbox 360
- PC with SATA
- SATA Cable
- JungleFlasher
Instructions
1. Download and install the latest version of JungleFlasher. (Currently v0.1.76)
Note: You may need to reboot your machine
2. Once you have installed JungleFlasher power off your PC so we are ready for the next step.
3. Start to disassemble your Xbox 360 by removing the faceplate and outer plastic shell. If you need more help on how to open your xbox 360 please see our existing tutorial which we have linked to below.
4. With your Xbox 360 now open disconnect the SATA cable which is connecting the DVD Drive and the Xbox 360 motherboard. Don't forget to place it in a safe place, we will be needing this later.
5. Grab your own SATA cable and connect one end to the Xbox 360 Motherboard.
6. Connect the other end of the SATA cable to your PC SATA port.
7. Turn on your PC
8. Turn on your Xbox 360
9. Load JungleFlasher
10. Select "Xbox 360 motherboard" from the JungleFlasher main menu.
11. Click on "Copy HDD Key and EEPROM."
At this point JungleFlasher should now be transferring the EEPROM and HDD key from the Xbox 360 motherboard to your PC via the SATA cable you just connected. Please be patient, it will take around 10 minutes to complete.
12. Once the copy process has complete just Click "OK."
13. Shut down your computer
14. Disconnect the SATA cable from the Xbox 360 motherboard and your PC.
15. Replace the original SATA cable which you put in a safe place in step 3.
