Introduction
This tutorial explains in detail how to use any MIDI compatible electronic drum kit with "Guitar Hero: World Tour". I have also added a video tutorial explaining how to fix any double hit problems you might be having while playing with a Midi E-Drum.
Please Note:
If you do experience double hit issues you will need an additional MIDI cable and a PC which has a MIDI Card. ("MIDI input" and "MIDI output") You can install the "GH Drum Filter" software to fix any double hit problems.
What you will need
- GHWT Official Drumkit with MIDI input
- MIDI Cable
- MIDI Compatible Drums (Roland TD-9, Roland TD-20 etc)
For this tutorial we will be connecting a Roland TD-9 drumkit via MIDI directly to the GHWT kit. Feel free to connect whichever drumkit you have.
Let's get started
1. Ok, first thing we will want to do is setup everything in your living room, bedroom or whatever so you can easily access and connect everything. So get things close and setup.
2. Grab a MIDI cable and connect to the Guitar Hero: World Tour Drumkit MIDI input.
3. Find the other end of the same MIDI cable and connect it to your Electronic drumkit. The MIDI cable should be placed in the "MIDI OUT" connection. eg. Roland TD-9, Roland TD-20
4. Turn on your Electronic Drumset. Make sure the MIDI cable is in the MIDI out connection for your drum kit.
5. Turn on the "Wireless GHWT Drumkit" with MIDI cable already connected
6. Start Guitar Hero World Tour
7. After GHWT has started go into the "Music Studio" so you can test out your kit.
Ok, well that's it.. Since MIDI is a univeral language i had no doubts this would work but it seems that some kits cause lots of problems and can be a bugger to get configured depending on how many symbols etc your pro kit has.
Double hits???
If you are having double hit issues you may want to look into additional hardware and software to fix this issue. It's not hard to fix but will require you to install the "GH MIDI Filter software" (FREE) and have a pc with MIDI input/output.

With this new element in the controller chain, a few milliseconds of latency may appear. So you've got to increase the audio delay from 10-20ms in the game options menu.
