Get ready for the fight of a life time! Finally on Dec.30, DOA 4 was released. I had high hopes for this game and it delivers in all areas. These next-gen HD graphics have got to be seen to be believed. The first time I ran through this game I was blown away by the insane graphics. The character models are a step above the ones seen in DOA 3, but their costumes and tattoo's are a must see. The girls are extra jiggly in all the right places and their clothes move like they would in real life. You can actually tell if they are wearing leather or cotton. The character variety is good too. Ranging from heavy hitters like Bass and Leon to super speedy ones like Kasumi and Christie, so there is a little something for all fighting fans.
 The back rounds are mind blowing. The wrestling stage is a must see and the destuctable stages are totally crazy. Knocking people off bridges and down stair really adds to this games impressiveness. Some stages even have scrolling signs saying "Congratulations on the XBOX360 launch." The water reflections are the best that I have seen in any game to date and leave me wondering how they did it. Also, some stages you can use object in the backround to inflict more damage to your opponent which really adds some depth and strategy. I like the casino board in which you have to actually dodge moving cars while fighting.
The controls are also spot on. With a couple hours of practice you will be countering almost all attacks thown at you. Learning these counters are a must if you want to survive more than a couple rounds. The computer counters just about every attack that you throw, so you quickly learn that button mashing won't get you that far. The basic move that you can pull off are fast and fierce. There are many cool combos that can learned and are simplified in the games option menu which shows you all the moves. The throws are also very kick ass. I like Spartan-458's(The unlockable HALO character) plasma grenade throw where a plasma bomb is attached to the enemy's body which is followed by a swift kick. As they fly through the air the grenade detonates. BOOM!!! Very cool indeed.
The endings are a mix of funny and sinister ones. I dont want to spoil them, but you will want to see them all because you never know what to expect. Unlocking all fighters takes a while so be ready to put some long hours into beating the game with everyone, though some practice makes this eaisier. By the time they are all unlocked you will be ready to compete with you friends on or off line. The use of the DOA 4 arcade stick makes playing much eaiser. This is a high quality arcade stick and will increase your skills 10 fold. This stick is a definate must.
My only gripe with the game is the character deleting glitch. Whatever you do don't sign on with a different profile than the one you started playing with. If you do, when you resign on all of your unlocked characters will be gone(even though it will say that they are still unlocked in your achievements). This happened to me a roughly 10-15 hours of hard work was lost. I hope that Tecmo/Team Ninja releases a patch to fix this horrible bug. Other than this, DOA 4 is a must own XBOX360 game and is the game that I recommend to anyone who owns a 360. Fighting game fan or not. I apologize for the lenght of my review, but this is a kick ass game with alot to tell about. So go out and pick up a copy today!!!!!
