The Mercenaries Reunion
The juiced up version of Mercenaries. More characters to use more enemies to kill and unlike the original Resident Evil 5 you dont need to beat the game to access it. Unlock maps by scoring 20000 points or more with any character. If you kil any enemy with a special attack like Impale, Miranda Rights or Hammer Blow you wil gain a 5 second bonus. Start with the Public Assembly, if you score a B rating it wil unlock the next map and so on. And take it from a Resident Evil fanatic and owner of both the regular and Gold Edition, Mercenaries Reunion takes the mayhem to a whole new level.

This is where you get to put your skils to the test against other Resident Evil 5 Gold players online.
Resident Evil 5
Many were dissapointed by Capcoms deviation from bad lighting and the overtly creepy feel long time fans of the series have come to expect. This aside the game is quite fun and graphics are exceptional. The biggest blunder on this game however was the monsters like the string bean Gumby BOW's you fight at three different points in the game. Come on Capcom seriously whos afraid of a mutant Gumby? Pokey maybe but not me. The Lickers on the other hand look awsome compared to their debut in Resident Evil 2. The lack of puzzles is another faux pas in my opinion. As a huge fan of Nemesis I was very dissapointed that this staple of previous titles was left out. And last but not least Sheva Alomar, having her for backup is like having a lost puppy dog folow you around. With an IQ equivalent to a picinic basket she is of no help. Dont even waste your time or money upgrading a magnum for her or hooking her up with a grenade launcher or rocket launcher she wont use them. Even when faced by countless enemies or a chapter boss she will just use the handgun until out of bullets at which point she will switch to a machine gun or shotgun. I bought the original for PC right after release and Gold the first day available in Canada and to this day I have yet to see Sheva use a grenade, proximity bomb, magnum, grenade launcher or rocket launcher. It would have been much better suited if you had the option to ditch this third wheel and go it alone.
The live menu is a nice touch, now you gotta be on your ball switching weapons or you just might get your head taken off by a chainsaw. Also keeping the health ups the same Ie white,brown gold eggs, red/green herbs and health spray was nice but I missed the health increase power of the yellow herb. The controls are quite well done and the clunky feel that personified the Play Station releases is gone. As is the back and forth through the same spot 400 times, the linear structure was overdue in my opinion. Now instead of acting like zombies after a night of hard pot smoking the enemies hit fast and hard, no more three zombies trying to get through the door at the same time creating a bottle neck. No more enemies that move like an old Vincent Price era zombie with a pool cue up its butt. Braaaiiins.
Conclusion
Everybody knows Resident Evil has a massive loyal following and when the complaints about the deviation from the norm came rolling in Capcom listened and came through on the DLC. Its dark, its evil, a macabre instalment that should be perfect for any fan of the series. By far the biggest selling point of Gold Edition over the regular is that most stores have it for the same price or just a few bucks more. Right now the store here has the original for 19.99 or Gold for 24.99. But dont be expecting a second disc you gotta download the extra content and the token can be only used once so dont buy this game used or you will be just getting the original. This game is a must have for any survial horror third person shooter action games fan. Its replay value is through the roof, I still play it religously and can go hours on the Mercanary mode without ever becoming bored. So far of all games released for the 360 this is by far my favourite. Even if it was just the extra content it would stil be worth buying. So grab your gun, watch the video and get ready for Hell Resident Evil style. Unless you're to chicken.
