Having problems with your favorite Sims 3 Game not saving and glitching up? Well, a new petition to have The Sims 3 patched on the Xbox 360 is now available for everyone to sign. If you're having similar issues maybe you should sign up.
What makes a game enjoyable and a hit? Great game play, excitement, and it must have a great character! In EA’s Sims 3 it has all these and a character you create so you know you are making a great character.
I, myself, love this game, but, I came across a problem. The inability to save in the later weeks of this game. According to SinZinDetta “I have played well over 20 hours and it seems now my saved progress loads however anytime I save after this point it freezes. A couple people on the gamefaq website talked about having the same problem”. Also, according to scorpio111666 who posted in EA forums1 “I'm having the same save issue with Sims3 on my XBox Elite. I already deleted one file and started over from my previously saved file and worked myself all the way back up to where I was before and it froze again when I was saving. … I had put over 80 hours of work into this, so I was definitely MAD. Sims is my favorite game. But hopefully it will be fixed in the next couple weeks like they stated”. These were posted in EA’s forum on 11/19/2010 and 11/26/2010.
It has been almost 4 months since EA stated that they would have this patch for The Sims 3. A couple of people on The Sims 3 page have suggested writing to the BBB (Better Business Bureau). I talked to a representative to see if the glitch was my fault. He said there’d be a patch when I updated my game. There was no patch, but it was a little bit my fault. The rep suggested trying a new save file every time. I did what was suggested and got an extra 8.6 hours of game play. The save file still crashed.
The patch page has been updated on www.ea.com but there is only a patch for the computer version. I am sure most of you have experienced this issue on the Xbox 360 and want it fixed as soon as possible. You can write to the BBB or sign the petition and Like the page on facebook: www.ipetitions.com/petition/fixthesims3now.
Urge your friends and those who have or will play to sign the petition for long and exciting game play. Together we will get The Sims 3 patched and enjoyable once again!
Mark from "Game Hunters" shares his first impressions of the soon to be smash hit, "Sims 3" for Consoles.
One of the highest-rated computer games in recent memory is making its way to consoles. Electronic Arts' The Sims 3 will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii on October 26.
Can EA take a "lean in" experience, where you micromanage the lives of little people, and make it appeal to a more "lean back" gamer? From what we've seen at a recent press event in New York City, they've figured out how to do it.
First off, The Sims 3 for consoles has everything the PC version has, says EA, but with tweaked controls, a better suited user interface and fun extras such as karma powers and a reward system.
If you've ever played the computer version, you're well aware of how the game mechanics work: you take care of the needs and desires of your customizable Sims, mingle with the neighbors, excel in your career and decorate your home with unlockable items.
The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, which mark the first time The Sims has appeared on next-generation consoles, also lets you exchange items with friends over the Internet, while the Nintendo Wii game has its own unique town and careers, a 4-player minigame, and the ability to swim in the ocean or go windsurfing.
One of the coolest new features of The Sims 3 on consoles is "karma powers," where you can cast a spell, of sorts, to help your sim out in a number of ways. For example, does a pretty Sim like someone other than your own Sim? Use "Cosmic Curse" to the take out the competition by giving her suitor some serious flatulence. Is your Sim feeling down and needs a "Best Day Ever"? Everything will go right for your Sim as they go to work and get a promotion, and then come home to find an attractive neighbor at their doorstep. Each power only lasts a couple of hours, so be selective when and how you use it.
Surprise, The Sims 3 will soon shed its PC exclusivity by gracing not one, not two, but all three of the major consoles and a handheld to boot.
Publisher Electronic Arts just revealed that The Sims 3 (PCW Score: 4.5 out of 5) is in the mixer for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS. It's been secretly churning for some time too, apparently, since EA says it'll be available for those four already this fall.
Worried it won't transition comfortably from keyboard-mouse to couch-and-gamepad? Stay skeptical, but EA claims it "tailored each platform [version] of The Sims 3 with exclusive features to allow for even more control, creativity, and connectivity." (I know, a little silly with the alliterative sunshine...and we're not even to the part where they trot out shelf-syntax like "rich," "immersive," and "seamlessly integrated.")
New to the console versions, "Karma Powers" let you fiddle more directly with your Sims' well-being, and EA says you can employ them to help your Sim "get lucky," offer them an "instant beauty" makeover, or slap them down with an "epic fail." It sounds like the powers have flip-sides, too, and EA says using them "may have unexpected results and karma may come back to bite."
Of the lot, it looks like the Wii and DS versions are the ones to beat. The PS3 and Xbox 360 ports will share the PC version's option to share custom content with others. They'll also include an option to automatically annoy--I mean "notify" Facebook friends of your in-game achievements.
But it's the Wii and DS that have with the coolest-sounding new content.
For instance, the Wii gets a brand new beach town, with "unique residents, traits, careers and lifetime wishes." You'll be able to square off with friends in a new "Life Moments" mode (no explanation how it works) to earn rewards. And it sounds like EA's added exclusive "adventure quests" designed to flesh out each area and break up stretches of needs-juggling monotony.
The DS version, by comparison, gets a "never before seen" feature where players can use the device's stylus to "build their Sims' homes with tools, draw walls and floors, and customize virtually everything from décor objects, textures, and more." The Create-a-Sim aspect's also reportedly been finessed to play to the DS's strengths, allowing you to literally sculpt your Sims' attributes and wardrobe. And while I'm not sure what this next bit means exactly, you can "for the first time ever on the Nintendo DS...enjoy a complete life simulation." I'll just read that as "notably less emasculated" overall gameplay than previous handheld ports.
Conspicuously absent from the lineup of supported devices? Sony's PlayStation Portable, whose monthly unit sales are in the toilet. That's a shame, considering how well the PSP version of The Sims 2 sold (tepid critical reaction notwithstanding) when it shipped back in December 2005.
