Kotaku.com has put out a review of Bionic Commando and how it looks so far, keep in mind no releas date has been set in stone for this game so Capcom could make a lot of changes by the time it hits shelvs.
One of the things about the game pointed out by Kotaku was that "Visually, the new Bionic Commando is more than just impressive. Protagonist Nathan Spencer's dreadlocks wave believably in the breeze—a minor detail, yes—as does the transition from devastated city settings to lush forested areas—a more impressive feat artistically and technically."
Kotaku went on to add "At this stage in development, with a ship date still "TBD," combat feels unfinished. Spencer's powerful mechanical arm could launch bad guys into the air, but they floated oddly, something we hope (and assume) will be fixed in the final version. The ability to disable one half of a pair with the bionic arm while firing at another shows that combat has potential. That Spencer can lob, then spike cars at enemy soldiers might prove that GRIN has a bit of a sadistic streak."
With that said check out the new screen shots and enjoy. :)
I have in no way trued to hide the fact that i cant wait for the new Bionic Commando or Bionic Commando Rearmed to hit I even have the MS points in my account and waiting just for it.
I had posted a few vids in the past to show what the new Ver. will have in the way of graphics but this time i will be posting a video for Bionic Commando Rearmed Multiplayer, Enjoy.
Looks like total chaos don't it and i love me some total chaos.
The official Bionic Commando: Rearmed web site has announced that Bionic Commando: Rearmed will be going for 10 bucks in the US and that they came up with this price after taking a poll on it.
They have made no comment on pricing for the European version so far but since this game is on my got to have it list i will let you know as soon as the information is available.
Here is what producer Ben Judd had to say about the poll and its results: “While the results may suggest that $10 is the sweet spot for most people (in the US the final tally was 83% in favor of the $10 price point and 17% in favor of the $15 price point), there is another side of the story which wasn't represented by the poll results – and that is the huge number of user comments that we received, where a majority were suggesting they would pay $15 or even $20 for the game.”
Right now XBLA has a cap on the size of downloads of 150MB and it looks like they are willing to cut CAPCOM some slack for a few games that just need more space.
Bionic commando: Rearmed and Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will need more space to keep up with the PC and PSN versions or CAPCOM will need to cut the bonus material or cut down on the graphics to meet the 150MB standards.
Thank God this wont be the case and Microsoft will make an exception For them to go past the set mark and bring us the full game the way CAPCOM wanted us to play it.
Konami's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, was the first game to brake the size rule of 50MB and got it moved up to 150MB so we will keep an i out to see if Bionic commando: Rearmed and Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will get the bar raised for all games or if this is a one time pass.
Bionic Commando Rearmed sees a return of the intense 2D side scrolling, shooting and grappling action from the much-loved 1988 Bionic Commando on the original 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System™.
Bionic Commando Rearmed brings the amazing gameplay up to date with stunning new visuals, new weapons, online rankings, a reworked musical score and the addition of a 2-player co-op mode.
The title will also provide cross-game interoperability, as completing parts of Bionic Commando Rearmed will unlock new content and provide secret insight into characters and plot of the brand new Bionic Commando sequel coming later in 2008.
