VG247 Capcom has announced that a multiplayer demo for Bionic Commando will land on Xbox Live soon.
In all, the game will contain 16 multiplayer maps, but the demo will focus on Deatmatch mode, the map Vertigo, and support up to eight players.
After 20 years someone is finally deciding to recreate bionic commando. This game is looking good, and even though I have never played the original I am excited to see how this game turns out.
Capcom is pleased to confirm that the highly-anticipated Bionic Commando will ship to retailers in North America on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Reloaded for the latest generation of hardware, Bionic Commando sees the return of the ultimate fusion of man and machine as Nathan Spencer is back as a government operative who, after distinguishing himself in a fierce conflict against the Imperials, is betrayed and falsely imprisoned by the very people he unquestioningly served. However, when bio terrorists detonate an experimental device over Ascension City and then occupy it, there is only one option open to the authorities – reactivate Nathan Spencer.
The upcoming new generation game, first released 20 years ago with the 8-bit original on the NES, is making a big comeback when it hits retail shelves this spring as it features an in-depth multiplayer mode that will have you swinging with friends around the globe via Xbox Live.

I have been waiting for what seems like a life time to get my hands on this game and as far as all the reports go it looks like like i will be waiting even longer then expected, i hope its worth the wait and one thing is for sure and that is the dev team is saying this game is not going to be as easy as most would like.
Kotaku Reports: Speaking with Capcom's Ben Judd and GRIN's Ulf Andersson today at TGS, we learned that Bionic Commando - which is playable on the showroom floor - won't be out in 2008. Instead, it's been delayed to early 2009. Or, as they put it, "very eeeeaaaarrrlllyyy 2009". That's the console versions, too; the PC version might be out at the same time, it might not, Andersson saying that version's date is "up to marketing".
The PC is always a slippery slope because of piracy, stuff like sorting out DRM, making sure we don't have too little or too much. But also because we want to make sure it doesn't feel like a port, so we can add a little extra polish to the PC version.
Sad, no? Still, "early 2009" isn't as far away as it used to be.
On a side note relaiting to the games diffaculty here is what was said: People are worried that Bionic Commando might be a bit too hard. I’m one of them. There’s a fear that, because the game’s swinging mechanic is both integral to the game and difficult to master at the same time, a lot of players may not take the time to learn the system and give up on the game. Is this a concern to the development team? No, not really. Making the mechanic hard was the whole point, says GRIN's Ulf Andersson:
It’s not f***in’ Spider-Man. We made a swing mechanism that’s not automatic. This means you have to focus a bit more, because it’s a proper mechanic instead of just a button press; it’s the core mechanic of the game. Everything in the game is built around that, from the environments to the enemy.
It’s really hard to do a good swing mechanic. Not many games have got it right. But we’re all really proud of ours. The original Bionic Commando was skill-based. There was a risk in jumping: you might die, you might not. We’ve stayed true to that core mood and feeling of the original in our game.
That mechanic will be too hard for some. Heck, might be too hard for many. But for others, it'll be a hoot. It’s at least refreshing to see a developer make a decision like this and stick with it, if only so you kids that are always complaining about stuff being dumbed down can take a look.
I have been waiting since the COD4 map pack for this game and with the MS points i have been holding forever it will be mine as soon as I'm finished posting this so jump on and try the demo or just get it since its made from a classic this one is sure to be a classic in and of its own.
Videogaming247.com is reporting: "The Major sends word that Bionic Commando: Rearmed is now up on Live at a cost of 800 MS Points.
Capcom’s action remake got a whopping 9.4/10 from IGN yesterday, so it’s probably worth a sniff."

Capcoms blog pages have let the info out and it looks like this: "Bionic Commando Rearmed is one of the best digital games you will ever play. Believe me, you're more than going to get your money's worth out of this particular title. I've been playing around with it for months now, but I've been putting off spending too much time with it for two reasons:
a) I want the Achiements (sad, but true)
b) I want to play the full game, start to finish. We're very happy to officially let you guys know that in North America (for sure) you'll be able to get your own Bionic Commando on Wednesday, August 13 (Xbox LIVE Arcade, 800 points) and/or Thursday, August 14 (PlayStation Network, $10 ). W00t!
With that said if you need me for anything today i will be right here running around in circles like a little kid that just found out Christmas is coming or like an old man that found out laxatives are half off.
