| Bomberman Live: Fast Pased Action | |
Bomberman Live Bomberman is a very influential game that has always been on consoles, from the turbografx16 to n64 and now to xbox 360. But does this one hold up to the classics? read on
 Overview
Bomberman Live brings back the classic arcade style action with greatly improved graphics, tons of unlockable costumes for bomberman, and thats right eight player xbox live action.
Gameplay - 9/10
Where some of the remakes failed to impress, bomberman live brings back the fun of the original and adds a lot more kick to it. There are classic and new modes added. they have the classic one with the classic level (which is currently my favorite) a whole bunch of new levels each with their own twists that suprisingly do not detract from the feel of the game. they've added three new modes aswell, zombie, which is where your bombs paint the arena, when you die your painted squares go away and the person with the most painted squares wins. another paint mode which is the same as zombie but only 1 life, and finally bombing run which is just like the classic just a lot more fast paced. these modes are a great addition and add some more replay value for when you've played too long on the classic mode. now for the powerups, they have brought back most of all the original ones and added a few new ones for added strategy. aside from all the new gameplay elements bomberman live sticks to its roots and adds much welcomed new things to do.
Graphics - 7/10
First things first, this is an xbox live arcade game so you cant expect graphics like oblivion or the alike for 10 dollars. But with what they give you is on par with the rest of the game. the animations are all very fluid and the textures aren't blurry. The bomb's explosions look superb. The graphics are good, but not amazing, but dont think you wont be in for a visual treat when all the explosions are going off ^_^
Sound - 7/10
Not too much going on here. Theres different tracks for different parts of the game (menu, ingame, postgame, etc) and they all seem to suit each other yet sounding different. The bomb explosion sounds are good, but the anouncers voices get annoying after a few hours of playing. Same with the graphics, the sound is good but not amazing
Overall - 8/10
I would recommend this game if you enjoy some fast paced action that can get pretty insane over xbox live. I would say my ten dollars were well spent
