Best Buy has listed Halo 3 as being released on November 16, 2006 for the Xbox 360. Which means it will be in stores this holiday season, a great stratgey to get gamers off of the Ps3 and on to the 360!
Remember all the hype Sony brought when they Said Ubi Soft was creating Assassin's Creed as a PS3 exclusive? Remember all of those rumors from E3 that Assassin's creed Demo was actually running on an Xbox 360 and not a PS3 (Remember, UbiSoft did not confirm nor deny it).
Which console UbiSoft is developing this title for isn’t quite clear either. At the Tokyo Game Show last September is was said to be a PS3 title, at the Game Developers conference in March it was said to be a PS3 and Xbox 360 title, Then at E3 a PS3 exclusive. Which one is it?
Well a leaked internal Memo from UbiSoft for an upcoming game list classified Assassin's Creed as a multi-platform game. UbiSoft officially the company denies this, although sources close to UbiSoft said the game will definitely be on Xbox 360.
Perhaps UbiSoft sold the rights to Sony, to ANNOUNCE, that it is a Sony Exclusive- Remember, now a days exclusive means "only on this console....for a short time.”, unless the game in question is published by 1st party.
Look's like Toshiba is taking one for the team. It is estimated that Toshiba will lose approximately $200 for every HD-A1 HD-DVD player sold. According to a report published by iSupli the components needed to assemble the HD-A1 came to approximately $674, this isn’t even taking into consideration the cost for packaging, component cables, and remote control, which if you factor in the total cost would be around $700.
Why would Toshiba be willing for such the large profit loss? My guess is to establish a hold on the next-generation market format. A $500 HD-DVD player is certainly more attractive than a $1000 Blu-Ray player. Now lets ask, is a lower price over Blu-Ray worth the finical risk?
Everyone has heard the rumor; Microsoft lowers the price of the Xbox 360 by one Benjamin Franklin ($100) and in turn wins the hearts of many and slays the evil beast known as the PS3.
Well the official word has come from MS; there is no price drop in mind or in sight. Microsoft believes that Sony's bad PR move's wont matter a thing after Bill Gates zooms past with a 10 million console market lead.
Could this be a risky move for Microsoft with Nintendo's Wii to be expected at $250? It seems like the 7th generation war is only starting, and everyone is a potential champion.
