Everyone has heard the rumor; Microsoft lowers the price of the Xbox 360 by one Benjamin Franklin ($100) and in turn wins the hearts of many and slays the evil beast known as the PS3.
Well the official word has come from MS; there is no price drop in mind or in sight. Microsoft believes that Sony's bad PR move's wont matter a thing after Bill Gates zooms past with a 10 million console market lead.
Could this be a risky move for Microsoft with Nintendo's Wii to be expected at $250? It seems like the 7th generation war is only starting, and everyone is a potential champion.
According to Microsoft's own Xbox.com, Ninety-Nine Night will require the use of a Hard Drive in order to play, it is also "Hard Drive Enhanced". Microsoft has stated before that the Xbox 360 wouldn’t require a Hard drive to play games, if this is a typo is yet to be determined. But if not there are two possibility’s; The game will require access to loads of data(that it's Japanese counterpart did not), or it will be digitally distributed. No one knows for sure.
Everyone knows how important it is to keep your CPU running a low temperature, doing this can mean the difference of a working system or a hardware failure, so when all of these home mods for liquid cooling systems for Xbox 360's began popping up like wildfire one company knew what they had to do. Koolance has developed a liquid cooling system for the Xbox 360 in silver or black and the complete kit includes the Extos-LT cooling system as well as CPU and GPU cooling blocks, an AC power adapter and mounting harder specially designed for the XBox. Although the modification isn’t anything to hard Koolance insists that only the l337 perform this task, as one small screw up could mean "bye, bye 360", and since you already opened your console and voided your warranty you'll have to pony up another $400(or $300 if you just want a core, or just to swap out the Hard Drive from your dead 360) Additionally, Koolance provides no "proprietary instructions" for the XBox modifications, nor how to attach the cooling components. In order for Koolance's warranty to be valid, their own special liquid coolant must be used - and incidentally, Koolance's warranty does not extend to the XBox.
So at $394 sale price, almost the amount you paid for your system, you can own one today!
How many Xbox's do i have laying around with a dead hard drive? Four, and might I add I have none of the EEPROMS to any of them, so im stuck with four massive paper weights.
But not so anymore thanks to one l337 h4xX0rz. Now with a bunch of wires, some 4.7K resistors and an empty Spearmint Altoids tin we can retrieve those EEPROM's to put those Xbox's back into working order.
MacGyver would be proud.

A hacker by the name of spectrum4eva has released the perfect compliment to Commodore4eva's Xtreme Firmware for Hitachi 46D and 47D and 59 XBox 360 V1.1, since the generated SS would be compatible to it. He only released the Tool because sharing the SS would infringe on copyright protections (and nobody likes to get sued) and please take note that this tool will only run on XP/W2K.
The driections for use are as follows: getss.exe drive ss.bin
drive-> is the letter of your 3120L DVD drive
ss.bin-> is the generated SS file
to apply this patch use ppf-o-matic over your file.
to flash you drive yo need to flash the following areas:
Looks like someone down under (Hobbs?) has said that the much anticipated Xbox Live Arcade title Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting has gotten a release date -- at least down under. According to Xbox Australia, the game is set to hit July 30th. Damn them Aussie's!
As for a US Release, according to Xbox US the game came out two months ago (March 2006), talk about vaporware. Maybe Microsoft should update every once in awhile.
