Since i have had my 360 i have found that all new games are going to run you about 60 bucks and thats that, sounded high to me but who am i to question the great game god that is Microsoft?
With a bit more insite to the cost of games and the possible drop that may become a trend here is a Forbes report that gives us a look at what game pricing might hold for us in the coming year.
The arrival of the Xbox 360 did more than usher in the next generation of videogame systems. It also brought with it a new pricing structure for games.
The $50 price point for AAA games, which had held steady for years, finally jumped to $60. Gamers, predictably, howled in protest, but didn't slow their spending one penny. If anything, they spent more. Publishers were able to cushion their higher development costs and it wasn't long before everyone got comfortable with the new price.

That was before the recession hit. With consumers increasingly worried about their cash flow, questions are starting to surface on how long publishers will be able to maintain the $60 price point.
Activision-Blizzard made the most notable move right before Christmas, lowering the price of "Call of Duty: World at War" from $59 to $49. While price cuts aren't unheard of during the holidays, the latest "Call of Duty" was a strong seller for the company and the action perked the ears of analysts.
"While the move may be part of an annual promotion, we believe a $10 discount on one of the industry’s top holiday releases highlights the risk of lower software pricing moving into the new year," wrote Colin Sebastian, senior vice president of equity research for Lazard Capital Markets, in a note to investors.
The late-December cuts to "Call of Duty" were hardly the only ones in the industry. Activision-Blizzard also reduced the price of "Guitar Hero: World Tour," and Sebastian notes Ubisoft and Electronic Arts (nasdaq: ERTS - news - people ) have also instituted broader price cuts.
No doubt, publishers will continue to release new games at $60 price points for some time. But the inability to keep them at that level for a significant period could have some serious implications on revenues.
Lets hope this will hold true and that we can all get back to the glory days of 50 dollar games and save the 60 dollar price point for the ones with DLC already in the box.

Valve have just recently announced that we will all be getting some new Left 4 Dead DLC for both the PC and Xbox 360 very soon. No price has been announced as yet but rumours are that it will be costing Xbox 360 owners some hard earned Microsoft Points but will be free for PC.
Setting out to do for co-op gaming what Counter-Strike did for team combat, Left 4 Dead is an ambitious survival horror game. Running on the Source engine, Left 4 Dead leaves four armed survivors of a world overrun with zombies, and they must fight their way out to escape the outbreak. Designed for co-op play, the four players must work together to finish each stage of the game, lending each other artillery support, sharing ammo and rescuing each other when zombies are on top of them.
Valve are reportedly planning to release their new DLC content across both platforms simultaneously.
Faliszek has revealed that Valve has plans on incorporating the Versus mode to the Dead Air and Death Toll campaigns. Currently, only Blood Harvest and No Mercy are playable in Versus.
New scenarios will be a coming for PC users who will eventually get the software development kit, allowing them to make their own scenarios, complete with scripted events and more.
Epic Games' Cliff Bleszinski chats about his inspirations and innovations with the guys from forbes.com.
A chainsaw revs. The heavily armored Marcus Fenix lumbers forward, ripping through a Locust soldier as if he were shredding turkey with an electric carving knife. The combination assault rifle and mechanized saw blade, known as a Lancer, is one of the most recognizable components of "Gears of War," the Xbox 360 shooter that asks players to save humanity from an alien horde.
The most recognizable man behind the franchise happens to be Cliff Bleszinski. The 33-year-old design director of Epic Games has cultivated a rock star aura, despite the videogame industry's general lack of celebrity. He started out in the business when he was 17. Now he is in charge of one of the largest franchises on Microsoft's (nasdaq: MSFT - news - people ) console. "Gears of War 2," his latest title, launched in early November and sold 2 million copies its opening weekend. The game is expected to be one of the best-selling games this holiday season.
