Xbox 720 is the pre-announcement accepted name for the next Xbox. Xbox 720 is by no means the name of the next system, nor is it even suggesting that there is a new system in the works even. In my mind, Microsoft has got to be working on the Xbox 720. They are slowly losing console sales and the wii is completely dominating the markets.
With an upgrade like the Xbox 720 there would be a huge boost in the Microsoft stock. The Xbox 720 will have a lot to live up too however. They will need a motion sensing system like the Wii, they need to use Blu-Ray discs, and it needs to be powerful, yet affordable. Something the PS3 was unable to master. Playstation hasn’t even profitted off of the PS3 yet. That’s not good.
Why should they update now? Well, personally the Xbox 360 is slowing down. If they came out with the best system they’d dominate the market. They already have the best online gaming system. The Xbox 720 could be a dominant system well into 2015 even. There are some photoshopped ideas of the Xbox 720, but none of them are likely legit.
Believe it or not, new systems are generally not a good thing for the companies. The PS3 loses money for Sony when they sell. They make it back in games hopefully. The Xbox 720 would require such advanced software and components that not only will it cost us a lot to purchase, the Xbox 720 will have to sell well below market value to even be close to being competition with the Wii.
To wait or be the first? That’s a tough decision for Microsoft. It could be the difference between a huge profit or lost money. What do you guys think? Should they come out with the Xbox 720 if one came out in 2009?
Well the Australian Board of Classification is at it again with there harsh standards and I'm sure it comes as no surprise to the citizens but here are the details of there latest video game hack job.
Edge-Online.com reports the following: Atari has revealed to Edge more details of the amendments made to Silent Hill Homecoming for it to be granted classification in Australia.
News emerged last week that the title had been resubmitted to the Australian Board of Classification (meaning it must have made notable changes to its content), following the board’s decision to refuse the game a MA15+ rating.
At the time, a spokesperson for the Australian board said that “Atari – on its own initiative – resubmitted the game for classification, so essentially it’s not the same game.”
Atari has since explained to Edge that the amendments made to Silent Hill Homecoming will, largely, not be related to gameplay. “The major changes to the Australian release of Silent Hill Homecoming will be made to its cut scenes,” the publisher said, “where new camera angles and techniques will be used to reduce the impact of the unclassifiable material.”
Atari adds that such changes have “only been made to some scenes, while the original storyline remains unchanged.”
The Australian board continues to find friction with publishers due to its highest classification sitting below adult age, a situation which remains a constant source of embarrassment for many politicians and ministers.
Atari added that Silent Hill Homecoming will be given an R rating in the neighbouring nation of New Zealand, and it will “remain unedited.”
For a place founded for convicts they sure do have high moral standers down there.

I dont know about the rest of this world but here in the good ol US it seems a hand full of goons and fools are so dumb they need a warning on everything right down to a warning that there cup of coffee is hot, this same batch of nut jobs now need a warning on there games so that they can over look it and get the game for there kids anyway.
Gamesindustry.biz reports: US congressman, Joe Baca, a representative for the Democrats, has proposed legislation that would see videogames carry a health warning label similar to that of cigarettes and alcohol.
If the Videogame Health Labeling Act of 2009, co-sponsored by Republican Frank R. Wolf, were to pass all T and M rated games would carry a label which would read: 'Warning: Excessive exposure to violent videogames and other violent media has been linked to aggressive behaviour.'
"The video game industry has a responsibility to parents, families, and to consumers – to inform them of the potentially damaging content that is often found in their products," Baca said.
"They have repeatedly failed to live up to this responsibility. Meanwhile research continues to show a proven link between playing violent games and increased aggression in young people. American families deserve to know the truth about these potentially dangerous products."
Baca cites studies from the Pediatrics Journal, University of Indiana, University of Missouri, and Michigan State University as proof there is a "neurological link" between playing violent video games and aggressive behaviour in children and teenagers.
"We must hold the video game industry accountable and do everything in our power to ensure parents are aware of the detrimental effects that violent games can have before making decisions on which games are appropriate for their children to play," Baca added.
"I am proud to introduce the Video Game Health Labeling Act of 2009, and am hopeful my legislation can work to stop the growing influence of violent media on America's children and youth."
There you have it boys and girls, i cant wait for 2011 the year we add a warning to everything that tells you what might happen if you don't read the warning.
I have had my Microsoft points waiting for this content for a long time now so as soon as i get this batch of news out there you know what i will be doing, if you have Fable 2 and are not sure if you want the new content you might want to read this over.
CVG reports: Fable II's Knothole Island DLC pack is finally up for download for 800 Microsoft points (£6.80). Here's why writer Mark Llabres Hill reckons it's worth your cash.
As you've probably gathered the pack adds a new area to explore, the remote island of Knothole. "Only a hero can face the trials of the three shrines to bring back the sunshine," says the pack's official blurb.
To mark today's release we managed to get some questions 'answered' (we use the term loosely) by Fable II writer Mark Llabres Hill, who entertainingly dodges all of our queries on what we should expect from the pack, and Lionhead's plans for the future. At least you can download it now and find out for yourself.
How did the concept for Knothole Island come about?
Hill: We knew we wanted to return to the Knothole Glade village from the first Fable. And we knew we wanted to do an island. After months of heated meetings and tortuous concentration, we realised we could combine both ideas to create one super-idea.
After that, the rest (creating new regions the player can affect like never before, designing and creating tons of new items and characters, and writing and recording hundreds of extra lines of dialogue) was easy.
Did other ideas get shelved behind the island?
Hill: For every idea that makes it into the game, there's a whole bunch that are left out. They stand outside our office building, noses pressed against the window glass like hungry orphans.
We'd rather not reveal any in case we ever bring them back in from the cold. Well, there was the notion of calling it "DLC Island" (pronounced Duhlka, of course). Oh, how we laughed at that one.
Right. How does DLC Isl... erm, Knothole fit into the storyline then?
Hill: We wanted everyone to be able to experience the new content no matter how much or how little they'd played of Fable II, so the new quests are independent from the main story and you will unlock them throughout the course of the game.
As a whole, they do tell their own self-contained tale, and you will be able to play them in one go if you've already completed the game.
Been a bit of chat on the 360-HQ side on this game and we all want the real details on when and will it be put out, I am happy to so yes it is a sure fire game and it will be in your hands this June and here with the full story is good ol videogaming247.
Videogaming247 reports: Terminal Reality chief Mark Randel confirmed the news that Ghostbusters: The videogame will release in June and declared: “It will be a huge Ghostbusters week!”
“Yes, that is correct, we have always been planning day and date release with the Blu-ray discs,” said Mark.
“It will be a huge Ghostbusters week!”
As whether we will see any kind of special edition Blu Ray movie/game box set, Randel said: “I cannot comment about the contents of a special version of the game other that it’s still in the planning stages…”
Ghostbusters was recently snapped up by Atari after being put out to tender by Activision last year.
