In EA Sports PGA Tour, golf fans will be able to build their virtual career and experience the sights, sounds, and thrills of the PGA Tour including The Players Championship, FedExCup Playoffs, and more unforgettable events. The game will also feature many of the world’s most famous courses, where fans will have the option to play against and as some of the biggest names in professional golf. The game will be built on the EA Frostbite engine and leveraging next-gen technology, promises stunning fidelity, breathtaking immersive environments, and approachable, dynamic gameplay.
In addition, EA SPORTS PGA TOUR will launch with Road to the Masters which brings tradition and unmatched stakes featuring Augusta National, challenges, tournaments and gear tied to the Masters. The Masters made its first-ever virtual appearance with EA SPORTS in 2011, and its return to video games has been highly requested by golf fans. Console game developers have often looked towards the casino gaming market to attract new players to their consoles. But there has always been something lacking in the subsequent titles that have been released.
The problem with simulations
The main problem for console developers is that their casino-based games have always been simulations when in reality, serious casino players prefer the features and benefits of real games. There are players who enjoy playing casino simulations rather than the real thing, often as a break from the intense world of console gaming, but their numbers are limited.
So we have serious casino game and poker players on one side and hard-core gamers on the other and there seems to be no way of bringing these two audiences together.
Previous X-box titles
Pure Hold’em: Full House Poker was released on the Xbox One and provided a decent poker gaming experience for the genre. The game featured interactive multi-player options and tournament poker, and the graphics were excellent. Today marks a big evolution of our interactive live-streaming platform and a new name for the service: Mixer. But, more than just the name, we’re launching several of the features that you all have been asking for. Why the name change? This was a tough decision, and not one that we made lightly. But, it was something that we decided on as a team. We chose Mixer as our new name because it represents what we love most about the service….how it brings people together.
