Onto my gaming history!
I first played games on my Dads Commodore, my brother got one of those and I got a ZX Sinclair Spectrum. We also had one of those old Atari consoles that had those ugly joysticks but no one in my family can remember which one it was or where it went lol.
I also fell in love with games at school on the Acorn PC's where I played Tank, Chaos, Moonquake, Lemmings and others. I also spent loads of time in the local computer shop (SRS Microsystems) as a kid, playing prince of persia on the pc's and any other game they put on their demo machines regularly.
Eventually I got a Master System, Game Gear and Atari Lynx in relatively quick succession around 1990. I fell in love with Sonic and Alex the Kidd and stuck with Sega from then on, moving up to the next console fairly regularly. Sadly we weren't rich enough to own the newest consoles from launch and I ended up owning them quite late. for example when the Genesis was out I was still on my SMS, when the Saturn came out I was still on my Genesis.
Along the way we picked up the Mega CD and Atari Jaguar both quite cheap as they had failed miserably. I got the Saturn about 6 months before Panzer Dragoon Saga came out and then that closed doors the following January lol
By the time I owned my Saturn I had begun earning my own money being 16 and working part time in Sainsburys. I then part exchanged the my majority of my old consoles (something I would regret forever after) in for a PS1, leaving me with the PS1 and a Saturn.
When the Saturn was on its last legs the Official Saturn UK magazine was featuring lots of preview info on the Sega Dreamcast, it looked incredible and would be out very soon so I vowed to buy it on release and back my beloved Sega all the way. I even did course work on the Dreamcast for my college in 1999! So anyway I bought a Dreamcast in October 1999 and spent many happy years of my life playing and collecting games for that and I also gradually bought back all my old systems and games.
Then the Dreamcast came to an end and I was very Anti Nintendo/Sony for what happened to Sega. I didn't blame Nintendo I just didn't particularly like them. It was SONY whom I blamed utterly for the DC's downfall. I wouldn't reconcile my Playstation issues until around 2005 when I bought a ps2 cheap second hand. I had already moved onto the xbox and also got hold of a Gamecube from my brother for free.
So now we are up to speed on my gaming history! I got the 360 in 2006 after my original xbox died and then my Girlfriend and I moved in together and I gained part ownership of our Wii as well, I now use that to play my gamecube games too.
Anyway enough reminising! gaming is in my blood and will always be a part of my life! If anyone wants to add me and discuss gaming in general, whatever the console, or if you want to have a game of something then give me a shout, I'm always willing to make new mates, I believe video game fans are the coolest kind of fans out there, because we all have similar interests and passions.
Long live video games and long live the xbox!!!
