Hey guys, got another seemingly simple question. My buddy has a slim that he uses to play media from a 320GB External Hitachi HDD. Up until his internet was cut off, he could watch any video converted for Xbox just fine. Now, with no connection to LIVE, he can only watch .avi files. I brought it home and updated it using my internet and even unplugged the console and tested all.mp4 files offline. As soon as he gets home he calls and says only the .avi's will work now. Any ideas on how to get the update to hold offline? _________________________________________________________

i remember we had a thread here on HQ somewhere with the actual error code in it.. I can't remember it off the top of my head though. Try making another xbox live account and then download the optional media update. Try it offline and see if it works..
