As of this morning, Microsoft released a new system update (2.0.13xxx) via Xbox LIVE that will re-flash all DVD-ROM drives, making them go back to their original firmware.
So far there is two solutions to this problem:
1) Accept and install the system update and then you will need to re-flash your drive to play backups again.
2) Keep playing Offline till you're forced to make the update from a new game in about a month or two. Then you will have to reflash your 360 again.
Games that have AP25 protection such as Modern Warfare 2, CoD: Black OPS, Halo Reach and many others will have need to be re-patched and re-burnt for them to work again. There's no ETA as when the new AP25 patch for all those specific games will be release.
XCONSOLES.COM has sent Team-Xecuter samples of a brand new product called “MOLEXT”, the first professionally manufactured and portable MOLEX device.
The scene has been crying out for a portable Molex device that is both high performing and high quality at the same time without busting the bank balance.
Designed and Made in the good ‘ole USA, this unassuming little gizmo knocked our socks off at Xecuter HQ with its outstanding performance ! We expected to get maybe 5 or 10 good flashes of a drive (including a full eject cycle just to give the 12v a solid workout). Boy, were we wrong.
With just 2 alkaline 9v batteries we were able to do 112 drive flashes before the battery indicators started to go red !!!
Out of all the DIY portable molex devices we have ever tested – this is the first professionally manufactured product that is as good as it gets and is a must for any serious mobile modder, because lets face it if you are a pro and you are mobile, in all probability you own a laptop or netbook already and you want to be flashing 10 drives in 10 minutes – not 2 hours, right ?
We can’t wait for these to be on sale to the public. We’re told that Radio Shack are looking to pick these up and there are will also be a distribution program setup for other wholesalers and retailers.
We will look at buying a large quantity for our X360USB PRO customers so we will be able to save you a few $$.
MOLEXT Features:
Portable Molex Power Supply
2 x 9v Alkaline Batteries
AC/DC Pass through (Wall socket / Car Adapter etc)
Dual Battery Power Level LED indicators (Green:Good, Orange:OK, Red: Change Battery)
High end circuit giving outstanding battery performance
Power Status LED
Made In The USA
….and of course Xecuter tested and approved
We will let you know as soon as production starts – and it looks like the RRP is going to be around $29.95

The world's first firmware for XBOX 360 Slim Liteon DG-16D4S 9504 DVD-ROM Drives has been released.
Ixtreme Slim LT+ features AP25 protection, protection from logging of all AP25 violations and Full disc stealth just to mention a few.
New protection measures for slim:
* Realtime checks of drive firmware and ram by dashboard - Rootkit technology used to pass several realtime check types. These checks on the drive are open ended so as to make replay of the answers impossible. Will pass any check on any part of the drive
* Hardware flash modification check - The 1335 chip performs a hardware check on powerup for modified firmware. Chip fooled into thinking firmware is stock
* Slim drive locked to read pressed game discs only - Enabled reading of DVD+R DL media for game discs
All features of current LT+ also included:
- Optimised PFI code to accomodate AP25 SS data
- Defeats current AP25 protection
- Protects console from logging AP25 violation
- Full disc stealth used by default
- Waveless booting , disc images are assumed to be correct!
- Split-Vid used as default
If booting an AP25 title without AP25 SS game will not boot but will still be protected from logging AP25 violation on current dash 12625. If LT+ encounters an unknown AP25 challenge, game will not boot but console will still be protected from logging AP25 violation on current dash 12625
AP25 SS are region specific for region locked games
Thanks must go to Team Jungle for their hard work and efforts in the development process. Thanks must also go to Team Xecuter for their generous support to this project.
