Good news for the fans of Boston, Harmonix and MTV Games announced the release of a Boston pack for Rock Band on March 25th.
The full release will be a six pack as appose to the three pack we have been seeing for some time now.
Tracks will include the following songs:
“Hitch a Ride”
“More Than a Feeling”
“Peace of Mind”
“Rock & Roll Band”
“Smokin’”
“Something About You”
(All six tracks are original master recordings)
The full pack will sell for $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points) or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) per track and again will be available Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from Xbox LIVE® Marketplace.
The much-improved Rock Band store announced to the world earlier this week is now available on Xbox Live. A 30-second download and installation gives players access to the streamlined song-buying interface, which features audio previews and individual instrument difficulties for each song, as well as a much simpler way to sort and browse through the growing selection of music.
Besides the cool new store, Harmonix have also added the much-needed faster loading of DLC provided by the patch. The physical "download data file" that actually speeds up the process takes up a paltry 112KB on your system, meaning there's no reason not to rock out faster!
"Microsoft stepped up to deliver iHD (later renamed HDi), which was a trademarked implementation of HD DVD's XML markup language. Toshiba liked it. They made HDi functionality a standard for HD DVD players, and eventually partnered with Microsoft to expand HDi's reach by founding the Advanced Interactivity Consortium. The primary goal of this group was forging industry relationships to further promote HDi in emerging outlets like downloadable and streaming media.
The deal gave HD DVD its competitive next-gen features, but here's the rub: Microsoft didn't need physical media to implement HDi. All of HDi's interactive bells and whistles could theoretically be applied to downloadable video content, as long as a runtime environment was available. Even as the disc format war raged on, elements of HDi's runtime environment showed up in Microsoft products like the Xbox 360 and Vista.
So, let's put everything together. Microsoft has a popular gaming console and an operating system that are HDi compatible. It also has a group of developers working on HDi applications, and a 360-accessible HD video library that could feasibly be outfitted with next-gen interactivity features. All that's left is the dog and pony show needed to convince content providers that HDi-enhanced content and Microsoft's video outlets are key to making HD video downloads a viable revenue stream."
Well as some of you may know Battlefield: Bad Company has announced that the multiplayer beta and it will start March 25th.
From what i hear all the keys to the beta are gone and you are S.O.L. if you wanted to get the demo.
The developers said: “We’re really excited about this beta since it gives us a chance to let a wider audience play our new multiplayer game, ‘Gold Rush’. The feedback coming back from something like this is crucial for us as developers and will help us with the final changes and polish in the game,” stated Karl-Magnus Troedsson, Senior Producer for Battlefield: Bad Company. “Battlefield and FPS fans get their first glimpse into how tactical destruction can be applied in multiplayer gameplay. We think offering two of the multiplayer maps will give gamers a fantastic experience and some great insight into the game.”
Now lets get to the lame part: according to reports by many web sites there will be a charge for extra weapons in the final release of Battlefield: Bad Company.
EA has made any announcement regarding the issue and as the confusion sets in I'm sure the rumor train will be rolling full speed.
Most sites are reporting the following: Battlefield: Bad Company will have a total of ten weapons that are locked that have text reading, “Available for purchase on Xbox Live Marketplace” next to them.
"Regarding what’s going to cost extra and what isn’t. Apparently five of the weapons may be made available in the collector’s edition of the game."
The guys from complex.com were one of a lucky few to get their hands on one of the new Grand Theft Auto IV LE Xbox 360's.
Microsoft added to the buzz leading up to the anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto IV by dropping a limited run of 500 GTA-branded Xbox 360 Elite systems and a briefcase full of peripherals today. We got our hands on number 170 out of 500.
The guys at Xbox took an Elite system and, using automotive-quality paint, touched up the sides of the 360 with the GTA IV box art and a serial number. Not a bad way to welcome the first title in the franchise that didn’t drop as a Sony exclusive. Rockstar is also producing exclusive episodes for 360 users available for download this fall. Hopefully it involves Bill Gates and Warren Buffet rolling up on GTA IV’s featured hitter Niko Bellic. The game finally drops on April 29. Unfortunately, the limited run of GTA IV 360s ain’t available in stores.
