Bioshock 2 Confirmed

Bioshock 2 Confirmed
Published by: wes213 on Thursday, March 13, 2008

"Bioshock" was one of the biggest games of 07 and has taken an obscene amount of awards and titles for everything from game play to sound track.

It comes as no surprise that a game of this caliber will be getting a sequel or that 2K will be trying to keep the original staff together for this game.

One of the big names that made this game such a hit is Ken Levine and when asked Strauss Zelnick said: "Ken is a terrific asset in the company, and he's a brilliant game developer. ... He will be working on Bioshock 2 and he will be working on a new IP."

"A lot of the work will be done at 2K Marin, but that's not to say Ken is not involved. He's critical to Bioshock,"

With Bioshock being such a big hit i for one am unsure of what could be done to really shake up the game this time around but lets hope the 2K team doesn't have the same problem.

Dead Space Is For The Big Boys

Dead Space Is For The Big Boys

EA has been well known for sports games and family friendly content but it looks like they want to try a shot at the M rated titles with "Dead Space".

The move to M rated games is a big one for EA and came out of left field but how can you make a space horror game and not include violent and graphic content and still keep it interesting, well you cant so they have pushed the limit of the M rating.

Executive producer of Dead Space Glen Schofield said “EA is always like: ‘We’re going to make T-rated games, sports games.’… The idea with this game was: ‘We are M. We’re clearly in the middle of M, if not M-plus.’”

I don't know about you guys but this is music to my ears and i cant wait to see the game in all its blood soaked glory.

Dead Space is set to release Halloween of 08 for 360, PS3 and PC.

One step closer to a Holodeck and the future of gaming.

One step closer to a Holodeck and the future of gaming.
Published by: gamexxover on Tuesday, March 11, 2008

I have often watched startrek and thought how cool it would be to someday have a holodeck, but was always stumped on how someone could walk in a straight line for more than a few yards without running into a wall.

Past versions of VR systems have not allowed for free movement, you basicly stand stationary with a helmet on your head.

What you see above is the virtuasphere, A $30,000 unit already in use for some military training.

Players don a motion-tracking headset to project the visuals and then they are ready to begin virtual exploration.

They can run, jump, roll, or crawl over virtually unlimited distances without encountering real world obstacles.

The large hollow sphere sits on rollers allowing it to rotate through 360 degrees and move freely in any direction - without actually going anywhere at all.

The Washington-based manufacturers describe it as the ultimate computer games peripheral, but say it could also be used as a unique exercise treadmill or for simulation exercises.

Systems are made to client specifications, with customers so far including military and law enforcement organisations, as well as entertainment companies.

VirtuSphere has already been used by the Russian Tourism Authorities to let people walk through the Red Square and the Kremlin.

For the ammount of time some of us spend online in FPS, sprinting to cover, chasing a guy to get a knife kill etc. This would put some of us in fantastic physical shape, beats the treadmill. If only we could afford it.
