OK, I haven't bought a 360 yet, but I might within a year or two, and it might be modded. My questions concern about the scenario that it is modded and runs backups perfectly.

Generally, would I need to firmware flash my 360 again, if a new game comes out?

How would I handle games that would try to upgrade the firmware of the XBOX360? Will it give me an option to refuse, or will it just do it automatically when the disc was inserted?

And where in this website might I find information about the latest versions of cracked firmware should I choose to look?

Thank you.

at the moment the best mod to play your backup games is a x360key, its a modchip that emulates the xbox 360 dvdrom. once you have it installed you can place backup files on any USB hard drive and play them. you can also flash your dvdrom itself, but you may need to keep flashing it to stay up with the latest firmware. with the xkey you place a firmware update on the external hdd and it updates for you and keeps your dvdrom stock. i have had both xk3y and firmware flashed, i suggest an xkey. http://www.360-hq.com/news-search-x360key.html

1 - No, you dont flash the fw again everytime a game comes out, Firmware upgrades are rare and not releted to games but security updates from M1cr0soft

2 - What upgrade the firmware of the xbox are dashboard updates, they are very rare
2.1 - Games with dash updates allow you to refuse but you wont be able to play the game

3 - Kept an eye on our News Section (everytime something happens in the scene, it will be posted)

Also check my app http://www.360-hq.com/postt7564.html It has a lot of tutorials to flash and also informs the latest firmware available.

PS: If you are looking for a console easy to flash, buy one with MFD before August 2011

I heard in a few 5 or 6 months that a new LT may hit the scene. The current LT is 3.0 so here are your options.

Buy a new arcade system
Find someone locally to flash it
OR

Order the Xecuter x360usb pro v2
*With the slim it'd be easier to buy a TX Unlocked board rather then trying the Kamakie method.

Then after all said and done. Order your Xk3y
*Would have to update to AP1.26 I believe thats what there calling it

If you can't afford all that then like I said try and find someone that'll flash your 360 for maybe around $20. Some people here may be able to do it.

But like I say if they get ready to take a soldering iron to your pcb say Ah hell no! Very Happy

But after all said and done, it'd be cheaper to buy xkeys because of these options

You buy a iHas drive that's around $40
You buy your DVD discs that's around $30

So that's $70 right there.

If you got spare HDDs laying around then it's perfect.

Wrong, what you need is a pc with a Sata port and connectivity kit.

If it is a slim, you plug you dvd drive to the pc, read/dump the dvdkey and then buy an xk3y and thats it.

The best setup is a VIA 6421A Sata card in your pc or a compatible VIA chipset on your motherboard.. That way you can use JungleFlasher without the need for all the extra USB stuff. If you only have a laptop it may be the only way to go.
