Microsoft Speak About Stolen 160MSP Codes and Considers Punishment
- http://www.360-hq.com/article4184.html

At PAX today Microsoft was asked about the supposed $1.2 million they lost due to the code exploit. Two days ago I received a response from Microsoft stating that their “Policy and Enforcement team is evaluating whether or not certain individuals have violated the Terms of Use for Xbox LIVE”. The audio in the following video makes it sound like they could not find anything in the ToU to rightfully punish those who took advantage of the website. Microsoft puts the fault on themselves.

The Microsoft representative speaking in the video then shares that they still know every gamertag that used the 160 point codes and will be keeping an eye on them. This can end up being a good thing for Microsoft after all. Since info of this exploit floated primarily around Xbox 360 and tech pirating websites, this may lead them to finding modified consoles and cheaters. The rep said this “has shined a big bright light” on all the users who took part in the exploit. If you used any of these 160 point codes, I would play it safe for a while.

Get ready for the next ban wave people, and for those of you who have used a 160MS points hack, you will no doubt be reset or banned just like many previous people by the sounds of this message. Oh, and it may not happened straight away, maybe a month maybe a year, but they are watching you.. hahahha (just jokes). Laughing

oh and gx0, would have been a nice news story that one. hehe

Ya, I know, I just came across it by accident while looking something up. Have a bunch of family over for bar-b-q, no time to put it in the news so just did a quick copy paste to forums because I know people were buying/selling here on the site a few days ago.

Not going to ban anyone for that but like being overheard saying bomb anywhere near an airport, it will get some people put on a watch list. now they will single those people out and wait for you to do something they can ban you for..

I'll be amazed if M$ does anything significant to those who used the fake numbers. Ive been in the MS hacker circles a long time, putting out activators for XP, Vista and 7, and the response everytime was "we dont feel we can do anything about these pirated OS because a high percentage of them are coming from our licensed sellers with counterfeit COA". Now from the sounds of things again it was one of their loose lipped workers who allowed this exploit, just like when they confirmed KB971004 couldnt detect SLIC. Besides the whole thing is academic, if M$ really had proof specific users had used counterfeit to purchase on Live they would have been banned in a heartbeat and a good chance it would be turned over to the police. Just rattling their sabre in hopes of scareing those who did it and to maybe help prevent it from being done again. I guess Bill forgets his roots already, maybe its time he goes back and looks at the lawsuit he lost over MSDOS.

Hopefully nothing about this has to do with the 160 MSP for $1 that Jbrizzel was selling. I bought 4000 of them, so I would hate to have to watch what I purchase. I'm not saying he's a scammer and I hope it doesnt come across as an insult to Jbrizzel. I'm simply wondering if they are a part of this topic.

He has been known to do stuff in the past, and since he was selling 160 MS codes, I would say he is probably part of it. If he wasn't he wouldn't be able to even profit at the super low prices that he was selling the points for.
