Activision has announced that they will not be continuing with any further Guitar Hero or DJ Hero games. They will also not be supporting any further DLC. This means that the February 2011 Megapack are the final add-on tracks you will be able to purchase for your guitar hero collection.
Dan Amrich, Activision's social media rep, tweeted the following earlier: "We will release the previously announced DLC track and mix packs for February, but we will not be able to release new DLC," which pretty much says it all, really.
Oh well, we all knew it had to come to an end.. What 10 games or so later,, lol, my god. Anyway, the February Mega Pack will be available for 1440 Microsoft Points!
Guess it's time for me to hack another drumkit for whatever music game is next.. There is no doubt something else is in the works, they can't leave all that money alone.

I didn't really see this coming. Even though I haven't bought a GH game since GH 3, all of my friends are still buying the new games. I thought they would have just gone on with the game for a long time. _________________________________________________________

Since Rock Band 3 upped the ante, guitar hero are screwed i guess. Rock Band have gone more for the pro music gamer and cover the newbs as well.
I guess this just means a shitload more DLC for rock band gamers.. hehe
I have no doubts there is some new idea in the works anyway, its about time a real band could play on LIVE man with all this technology we have.
anyway, its been 15 games over 6 years (i looked it up). crazy!

This is a tragedy. I really love my Guitar Hero and to hear they've stopped making it really saddens me. Rock Band doesnt compare at all, mainly for the fact that they don't even use proper Double-Kick in their Drums, even the new Pro Drums in RB3 doesnt do it.
Looks like I'm getting my TD3 at a good time, I'l ljust have to start playing for real now.

tell me about it, we have spent quite a bit of CASH converting electronic drumkits into Guitar Hero Compatible drums.. but oh well, i know i got myself some value for money and will still keep my setup until the next best thing arrives.
Here are some links to show you guys what DJB and I play drums on EXPERT+ with on guitar hero:
We knew it was coming, 16 titles in 6 years with the guitar hero series.
Funny thing is if HQ m0nsterboy never brought over his guitar like 3 years ago i would have never played it. ha _________________________________________________________ HQ Network:
