Hi everybody, first of all, Happy New Year!!

After being away for a long time, i recently started reading up on xbox360 modding.
Like an age ago i modded my old xbox myself with a xecuter chip.

I'm not to shure, but after i did that succesfull i only believe in hardmodding.
Just because the payoff afterwards is good, no need to constantly update firmware etc.

If i would be looking at chipmodding my xbox360, what you guys recommend on which chip to use?
And is it possible to use a X size harddrive on the 360 like i did with my first xbox?

Really curious on the comming reactions,
Cheers

Happy new year Smile

The only way to mod a 360,and get it to do what the original xbox dose is to JTAG it.(this is not as simple as softmodding or chipping the original xbox)

Also...when you modify a 360 as in,modified firmware, the 360 will only play back ups of ure original games.(modified firmware is a softmod, not a hard mod like a chip)

Flashing the 360s dvd rom drive with modified firmware means you can play back ups of ure 360 games.

Hi makaveli1527,

Good to see your back on the HQ and I understand and totally agree with what your saying about hard mods rather than software, especially when it comes to the xbox 1.

I always installed modchips in the Xbox 1, but with the 360 and all the online updates and game wave changes (now WAVE 9 i think) a modchip would still need to be flashed.

In Xbox 360 World, there are basically two types of mods you can perform and they are both flash mods.

1. JTAG MOD:
A JTAG allows you to boot homebrew games, apps and load stuff from your usb drive etc. It is by far the most popular at the moment due to the fact people are hosting modern warfare hacked lobbies online. A JTAG is the closest thing to a modded Xbox 1 but you cannot play online at all since it will get banned fairly quick.

2. FIRMWARE DVDROM MOD:
People who want to backup their own originals normally use this method.
You can safely backup your own games (not simple) and verify they are stealthed etc.

anyway, hope it helps you learn where to get started.. We have everything you need around the sites whether it be in on our VIP FTP Servers, tutorials areas etc.

cheers,

Bud i can have this bad boy flashed in like 5 mins via the internet on your own computer showing you step by step how to do it pretty easy Smile The blaster could help it were you do not have to keep opening the console every time and you can just hook up to update but its so easy to open the consoles i never invested in one.

I have a maximus Connectivity kit around $30.00 at http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/catalog/Maximus-360-Xtractor-PRO-360Xtractor-p-2818.html i recommend these guys as i have delt with them in the past and have not had 1 problem with them

You do not need a connectivity kit though you could use your xbox 360 for the power source but to me its more of a pain as i do so many but if your just trying to flash your own you could use your own but people also are worry about some how using the xbox 360 power could also get logged to the xbox and might get you banned this has not been confirmed though.

Hit me up on skype hq_scarface or hit me up on yahoo messenger: scarface_hq if you really want a full detail on how to flash your xbox step by step via teamviewer Smile I have been able to help many people across the world this way and have flashed over 200+ boxes without any problems.

yeah scarface, this is looking good. Let me check around local websites to get this maximus chip first. I take it that the model works for my benq drive?
once i have this kit i would appreciate it if you could help me out via skype.

For now it looks to me like hacking my 360 takes less time to do then when i flashed my xbox. Still the BIG pro about that one whas that i can throw any size harddrive in the box and make it work like a media console and play my games straight from the harddrive.

I take it that this is not an option on the 360?
i'll let ya know when i found myself a maximus kit!
Cheers

well since you have a benq and that you really dont need a connectivity kit if you have a sata port on your pc and use your power from your xbox 360 itself. But either way let me know.
