You can not install a new DVD Drive without knowing the drive key.
Is the console JTAG able? _________________________________________________________

As long a you have a backup of the original drive key then you can do just about anything. Unfortunately, by the sounds of it your drive is dead and you won't be able to get the key off. _________________________________________________________ HQ Network:

Have you found a decent tutorial for getting the key off once you have a JTAG 360?
You get it when you dump your original firmware, then you get the DVD Key from it _________________________________________________________
