Hey guys I have one of those lite-on drives in my 360 and I want to replace it with the Hitachi HL GDR-3120L Rev 78FK just because it is a lot easier to flash. Is this possible because I've only seen that you can replace the drive with the same brand, even if it is a different model? All I should have to do is extract the key and put it on the new drive right?

Hi Otto45,
I haven't replaced a LITE-ON with another brand yet myself but i have done it several times for samsung/hitachi etc etc.. So im sure it can be done..
Basic process is:
1. Backup liteon firmware
2. Backup replacement drive firmware
3. Open Back replacement drive firmware and paste LITEON key
4. Spoof the replacement drive the drive as a LITEON
5. Flash the replacement drive
6. Test new drive in the 360
Here is a link to my older tutorial which still works great for most dvdrom drives..
