hey hobbs, you know my background Ya, the panel is going but if it was an LG I know a couple of tweaks that would have helped out on it. Could be your power supply as well not giving enough voltage to the panel as well.
My thoughts, as I work on panels all the time.
Vizio is a knockoff brand, stay away unless you get extended warranty.
Toshiba - very hard to diagnose and replacement parts are overpriced.
Pioneer engineered all their panels for 6 generations, then outsourced for about two years and are now basically out of it.
Sony, has an issue with quite a few panels being dark and have to get them serviced to brighten up - it's the light detection sensor. The DLP's had the same issue. Overall a good lasting TV.
Sharp, personally I love my 32", and the ones that have needed servicing has been pleasant with good sourcing of parts at a reasonable cost.
RCA - Garbage
Zenith, don't knock them, mostly LG parts but lower/mid end. Don't see many around, or need fixing.
LG/Samsung - They have a model for every budget, and what you pay is what you expect. Go for last years model and save money. I've seen wicked picture quality out of both, like 3d off straight cable ! Great depth and all.
So go shopping and take it out of display mode and go straight to reset values. Nothing worse than looking at a tv that someone else thinks is great, but it's too red/green. Your eyes will decide what looks best for you.
Goto AVS forums and check out reviews on the latest and greatest out there. Great forum
Hopefully my 43"Pioneer plasma isn't jinxed now hobbs Did yours have the media receiver? I'm looking for one - Skype me.

hi delta,
My pioneer was one of the original ones and no it doesn't have any extra meda receiver, unless you mean the STB bit, it was genuine pioneer and even had a installer come out otherwise it would void your warranty. It doesnt even have a HD tuner built in, that should show you how old it is.. lol
Every person who has seen my tv (until the new ones came out), said it was the best tv they had ever seen, and i have to agree. Pioneer were making some fucking nice shit in those days.
thanks for the tips, yeh ive been outta the repair game for a while now and only doing a few xboxes and other electonics here and there, mostly software engineering and coding these days.
I like the LG ones, they look really nice, i don't like SONY and will never purchase anything from then again due to the bad experiences ive had with amplifiers and tvs etc etc before.
I have so much shit to do over the next few weeks im going crazy..
I got to get my new laptop, hopefully my tv lasts a little longer. _________________________________________________________ HQ Network:

I know the feeling on the pioneer tv, mine is the fourth generation with the STB, and gotta say, my 1080i looks better than most 1080p's on the market now
