In a continuing effort to ensure the best possible gameplay experience for Lost Planet Xbox 360 players, Capcom has developed an extensive network update which will optimize the online gameplay experience.
On Thursday, August 30 th, a network update will be implemented where players will be able to select from three different connection types when creating an online match. By allowing players to select the best connection type for their environment, the patch aims to improve the game’s connectivity for any players that have had previous problems.
There are 3 connection types.
Players should choose the option that suits their configurations:
Default
- This is the standard setting regardless of upload speed.
Pattern A
- This is more suitable when your upload speed is fast.
- Try this if your connection is unstable with Default.
Pattern B
- This is more suitable when your upload speed is slow and your connection is not stable with Default.
- Try this if your connection is unstable with Default.
After the update is released, you may experience some problems if you join a multiplayer match where players who have installed the patch and those who haven’t are participating. The expected problems are as follows:
Expected Issues:
Glitches with screen text
The game stops progressing at certain screen.
Disconnection (disbanded mission, etc)
If you experience problems like these, please try signing out once and signing in again.
This Friday the 20th July, 2007 "Lost Planet: Extreme Condition" gamers will be able to download Map Packs 1 and 2 for absolutely free.
Normally the additional Lost Planet Map Packs costs Microsoft Points but this Friday it will be free for all. We can also expect a patch to address the online connectivity issues sometime in the very near future.
In "Lost Planet: Extreme Condition", human snow pirates navigate VS (Vital Suits) through hostile ice-covered environments, fighting against the indigenous Akrid creatures for the precious thermal energy they need to survive. For one such pilot named Wayne, death almost seemed imminent until he was fortunately rescued.
However, he can only remember a few fragments of his past, including the slaying of his father by the monstrous beings. Yet under the veil of ice, a devious plan has been set into motion for the termination of all Akrid and snow pirates alike. What really happened to Wayne? Who is plotting the destructive scheme? Encounter valuable allies and dangerous enemies on Wayne's search for the truth.
They ask about such items as, "What is your favorite weapon", "What weapon do you feel is most overpowering", also they go into, "Do you have problems joining a game, where you will drop from the game, but still see it on the list". They go on to ask your setup and what type of router you use, and if the appropriate ports are open.
I feel its worth the 3 minutes, especially if they work on a fix for the few problems plaguing the online segment of the game.
So feel free to take the survey, and put your two cents in.
