Hookers and Shady Lawyers say, GTA BAD! lolPublished by GAMExxOVER on Monday, December 17, 2007 Tagged: Gaming, Xbox 360, Yes its true, We already know about Mr. Jack Thompson, the Layer who excitedly jumped in the vacant position of "lawyer who can make lots of cash and fame by attacking video games." But now the gaming community has an even "higher moral authority" telling us violent video games are bad, or at least bad for business, Canadian Arctic Hookers.
Anastasia Kuzyk of the Sex Workers’ Alliance of Toronto told the newspaper:
Sex work is a job, and violence is not in the job description… There's a video game out there where you can run down prostitutes and kill them and beat them up and take their money. It feeds into the whole subculture of allowing the violence to continue. Violence against sex workers should not be normalized, but it is.
Perhaps it is the clientel that puts the "Workers" in danger rather than video games. Perhaps along with "Are You A Cop?" they can add " Do You Play GTA?". Then again if there were less people playing video games maybe more people would be out looking for some other form of entertainment, like maybe .....Cruz'n for hookers?
What ever the motivation, we do not need Ambulance chasers and hookers telling us we are bad people because we like to play us some GTA now and then. Sure I run down a street walker or two in GTA but I dont give them a second thought in the real world. If the hookers really wanted to save us dumb sheep from ourselves maybe they can start by having their clients turn off the ignition while they do their business and cut down on Global Warming.
