Sounds allot like what Def Leppard is doing for Guitar Hero III, do we have a battle of the hair bands on are hands?
You might recall the Def Leppard on GH4 post from Friday, April 04 @ 07:57:36 EDT, well it turns out the rumor was half fact and half wishful thinking.
Def Leppard will be out for GH, just not GH4 as i found out from the Def Leppard UK home page Ware you can find this announcement: "Available on the 24th April 2008 as part of a three-track Def Leppard song pack, new single Nine Lives will be playable exclusively on the 360 console a week ahead of its debut in stores and through online music distribution services. it will then be made available through Playstation 3 on the 8th May 2008. The pack will include "Nine Lives" and classic Leppard tracks ""Rock Of Ages" and "Photograph".
I know that the idea of a GH4 was the real appeal of the story but on the bright side this is supposed to be the first time ever that a single track will be released in a game format before a traditional launch.
Who would have guessed that guitarheronews.com would GH news and a GH4 rumor mixed up but rest assured that even with out proof of it i am almost certain that sooner or later a GH4 will hit.
You may or may not recall a few story's i posted such as Battlefield: Bad Company Gun Tax and Pay To Play, No Way in which i had reported EA and Dice had a plan to sell you the better guns for Battlefield: Bad Company as down loadable content and how the gamer world got its panties in a bunch over the news.
Guess the battle is over and for once the gamers win with EA and Dice announcing: "We had some weapons that we were planning to release through various marketing programs, but they were actually flagged there like you were supposed to buy these weapons through Xbox Live Marketplace, and that was a misunderstanding between marketing and us the developers."
So the way to fix this is: "All weapons will be available immediately for collector's edition buyers, and gamers who purchase the standard edition will have to put in the time to reach top level to unlock all weapons."
Now the real deal is when they make comments like this one here: "DICE is built upon the multi player community, and we do listen to what people say out there. When we saw this big uprise ... we just decided that all weapons will be free in the game, and that's how it is now."
Just shows that getting mad and venting to the man wont always work but sometimes you get what you want, it takes public humiliation and bitching to make them listen but its all good now.
Thanks EA and Dice. :)
