hmm i dunno it might focus incoming signal right to the sensor, but if it wasnt there im guessing the signal will find its way into the open hole just fine. if you want to be sure, just take the faceplate off and see how the remote works.... you dont need a faceplate to boot the 360

dont modifty it yet!!! .... if u bought it from a store do an exchange .... for god sake think why would u tamper with it when u have a return and a exchange policy?

No worries gus! I may be crazy, but I ain't stupid! I'll probably just clean the lens off very thoroughly and reinstall... who knows? Maybe I didn't get it lined up quite right and that made it not want to work.

yea i also have a similir issue.. like i have to point my remote controller directly on the 360 .... otherwise it wont get siginal as well... and i have the oem face plate .... is this also ur issue?

sounds similar, but my original faceplate works fine, just the COD2 faceplate has a problem.
