Well tell you what mate, you could try what i did to mine...
All i did was take off the x-clamp, and while making shure not to let the heatsink come away from the chip, put 4 x 1mm thick washers on the back of the mainbord, then put the X-clamp back on real carefully, the 4 washers put's just a little bit more presure on the chip and the x-clamp stops the mainbord bending the other way....
ONE THING stick some masking tape to one side of the washer to isolate it then cut around it and cut out the middle too. then put the tape side against the mainbord.... ok
I did this when mine started to get loads of colors on the screen wich means it's close to getting the RROD . and that was 16-20 weeks ago and its running great....
Just an idear you might try....
Ok I just fixed two more using just 4 x 1mm washers will see if all's ok.....
If so will try to make a tut (with pic's) for this fix, cos it's so simple to do and cost's about 10 cent's. _________________________________________________________
