Ok this mobo does not have an eject or sync button...they are both missing. I had a problem getting the board to power up at all to start with. After cleaning up the area around where the eject button was (since the system won't start if the eject button is held down I figured I would start there w/ the fix) now I got it so it will turn on.
What happens is the center ROL light comes on and the fans start and shut off right away and thats it....no video no sound...no boot....
Does anyone have a clue what would be causing this?
I am just baffled , never ran into this problem before.....
ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED , WILL EVEN PAY FOR HELP THAT GETS IT WORKING!

There is no sequence...just the center light comes on...none of the outer 4 light up...just the center lights up and the fans turn on then back off right away...
I am baffled...think I'm screwed as I can't find anyone that has ever seen thsi problem before..already took a heat gun to it to see if maybe it was a loose solder connection in the cpu/gpu or bridge...

bump.....
Anyone seen this problem before? From what I have found its that the CPU is missing or damaged and nothing is sending a signal to boot. The CPU is there and the buyer I got it from insists it was in working condition.

Sounds like the guy pulled a fast one on ya. Never heard of them going bad in transit. If so was there any insurance on it?

does POST (power on self test) run, because it sounds like its not fans whirl lights come on but nothing runs, on a pc a beep signals it.
I had a problem with it a while back, on my pc , it was a bad connection with the cpu.
a good way to tell is that if yopu take out all the ram alarms should go off on it, i don't know it it helps though being a 360 and all.
I used to have a list of syptoms/fixes for it but i can't see to find it right now if i do find it i'll send it you.
wiki has a good source of information POST.

I don't think it is posting , it turns on and the fans turn on for a split second and shut back off. Yet the light in the center of the ROL stays on solid. But no video or audio output and can't figure out why its doing this or a solution to the problem. I was hoping someone had seen this exact problem before and knew of a way to fix it.
I know this is old, but I thought I'd try to help. Was the x-clamp fix done to it? Check for broken traces around where the bolts/screws are put in to hold down the heatsinks. I've got one here that I had to do a trace repair on. Seems it was a slip of the hand when taking off the spring clamps and the edge of the screwdriver went across the board. Trace repairs so soon, just gotta shake my head at this. I was hoping it would only be the original xbox's I would have to fix because of corrosion on the front bus lines.
