A very quick email I sent to EA and DICE. I wonder how we'll go.
Dear EA & DICE,
I am the sole owner and editor for the HQ Network, a hobby network I created many years ago but is still very popular in the gaming world. I am writing to you today to ask permission to display my original Xbox 360 gameplay videos of Battlefield 3 on YouTube. 360-HQ and XBOX-HQ has been promoting the Battlefield series on the HQ network for many years, but lately whenever we try to promote our exclusive gameplay videos on YouTube they are asking us to provide written permission to upload some of our more amazing gameplay videos. Some are ok but some are not. Is there someone who I can speak with about getting permission to promote the game via the YouTube service?
If you take one moment to browse around our very own Xbox 360 website at www.360-hq.com you will see we love promoting games to our 150,000+ registered members and we would love to include all of our content on YouTube. We have 100's of pages dedicated to BF3 achievements, screenshots, clans, battelog and much more. We also are active as a member of the press and have access to all EA press releases and assets to display on the site. Can someone provide us with permission for our clips.
To browse all of our existing coverage of Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 please view the following links:
Are you monetizing the videos? was wondering if that is why YouTube is telling you to get permission.
I remember getting something similar a while back. If they do not give you permission I think there are still ways around that. one of which I believe is adding in commentary.
Just keep emailing them and bugging them until they get back to you.
