Soo I just got an older 360 the other day, wasn't sure on it's ability to function, I plugged it in last night and sure enough it worked! Then booted into the old blade style dash which is D:2.0.2858.0 K:2.0.2858.0, it seems to be older than the exploitable versions in the "how to check" post. I havent found anything, yet, about it. Would luck be on my side and this be exploitable for the jtag?

Unfortunately you have a jtagable console. Any dash revision above 7371 is not exploitable, you are way below so it's fine.

I will always take it off your hands if you don't want it!

Weelll if I was so unpatiently waiting for few years now id gladly let you have it, but being what it is, im gonna have to say no to this one, but i will keep an eye out for more. This one just happened to be sitting in my buddys garage and he let me have it, its pretty beat up but works, im gonna put a new case on it and add some better cooling to it so it doesnt die on me anytime too soon.

I never had the pleasure of jtagging a 360 yet, and kinda stopped reading on it, but now that i have one i gotta dig up all the info again lol.

Thanks much!

Very Happy

Incorrect! EVERY Xbox 360 console is vulnerable for exploiting! Including the new Xbox 360 Slim thanks to the new Kernel Reset Glitch!

I seen that, I will eventually try it out, but I like to go with the old stuff first and work my way to the new stuff lol.. Eventually I'll get another newer 360 and try the glitch on it.

Has anyone here used the glitch to jtag?

In my opinion, the best thing would be to use the newer exploit as in the future you will have a hard time finding rebooter updates for the JTAG (no future dashboard/kernel updates) exploit as most development and research will be in the Kernel Reset Glitch.

Kernel Reset Gltich Tutorials:
FAT - http://xbox-360.logic-sunrise.com/dossiers-et-tutoriaux-349109-en-reset-glitch-hack-on-fat-tutorial.html

Even though the dash and kernel are old enough for the original exploit?

I would like to do both ways, gives me more learning potential I think.

Thanks for the link, will be very useful, will have to order some of the stuff they show, i didn't read too much yet, just skimmed over it and watched a little bit of the video.

Yeah no problem! Also, if your going to use the Kernel Reset Glitch be sure to wait a bit for the newer mod chips come out, they are suppose to send a timed pulse at an accurate timing for a successful boot nearly every time.

Nice... I ordered some parts from the rad shack, hoping they will be here tomorrow or next day so I can get on with this already LOL. I have decided I am going to do both methods of the jtag.

I have another dumb question bouncing around in my head, I been reading as I always do before I dive in on a project, and I read somewhere (forgot where) that with the jtag mod you are unable to play originals/backups? Is that true?

Well that didn't seem to go over very well... flashed the xbr over and wouldn't boot, it would turn on but nothing wouldd happen, looked it up and found maybe it didnt flash all the way or something, so reflashed it and now sadly ended up with rrod with secondary code 0020. I must have done something wrong somewhere along the line but trying to flash it some more. during a couple writes though it failed and gave a wrong flash config number and it tried writing, maybe thats what happened?
