Just a quick question here about upgrading from Xtreme LT to Xtreme LT+ on a Lite-On 93450c drive (if anybody has done this yet).

Anyways onto the question, I assume that i would have to follow the instructions i did initially to flash this drive, would this be correct? Or since it already has the firmware on it, it will read?

I'm not sure if anyone remembers when I first did this somehow the pad for pin 101 was ripped of, here is a link to that post http://www.360-hq.com/postt5473.html I managed to probe around and find an alternate for that and used a wire to jump to another place.

if you have the original firmware on your computer for it all you have to do is do the lite-on erase to get it in vendor mode then put the source firmware in which is your original then hacked in the other and write after done outro and your good to go. REMEMBER to have good flash properties.

If you do not have the original f/w, which i hope you do have it. u can uses maximus patch method to read the firmware without having to redo the mra hack.

Thanks much for your tips, worked like a charm. When i clicked "lite-on erase" it erased it and came back with some errors, but then went into vendor mode, flashed and dumped just to make sure all was good. Working great so far, just did the new dash update also.

This method works also with the lite-on 83850C. However it seems that if the drive already has CFW on it you cannot dump it using the original method, you will have to use the MRA method from what I have gathered.

You usually have to do any kind of mra hack or do the vampire or probe 2 if you have those around if you do not have the original f/w already on the computer otherwise it will not dump the firmware from LT and up firmwares unless you do the methods i stated at the beginning of this post here.

I find that kind of strange, I would think it wouldn't matter which f/w you have CFW that is, it would go into vendor mode as it would with stock. I basically was trying to dump it so I could verify the OFW for the 83850C was the correct one, I just took a chance that it was after i tried and tried to dump the drive and did not succeed. Luckily it was the correct OFW phew Laughing , I was sure enough that was the correct one to not proceed with any hacks to dump the drive. Just find it strange you cant use the normal methods to get it into vendor mode with CFW installed thats all.

thats the way c4eva made it to be some reason that is why i put down the serial number as the saved name for the f/w so that i know that is the correct one. So when i need to upgrade the firmware again i just do the lite-on erase get it into vendor mode with correct flash properties then i put in my saved original as source and do the hacked f/w spoof then write then outro and i am done no need to do the mra/vampire/probe2 hack again.

I was doing that with IPrep, then started using jungleflasher and began naming them, I'm not sure why, easier to determine which went to which faster i guess. I should go back to serials though, that way there wouldnt be any confusion.

In the case of the 83850C that was mine and i gave it to my brother and changed the name from mine to his, failing to realize at the time i given him multiple 360's and would lose track. Although I was sure of it that was the only lite on he had.

Thats why i like Serial # hard to not know what goes with what even if the original case was swapped out you can get it off the metal part if that is lost you can get it on some mobos and if that was not on there you can get it from your dashboard. Glad all went good for you Smile
