I am thinking of buying a HDMI cable to free up the component connection on my tv so i can plug my wii into there and i have a couple of questions.
Will there be a difference in the game graphics (i know it would only be slight if there was)?
The official HDMI cable comes in 2 parts. The HDMI cable itself and a cable for the other cable with the left and right audio connections. Do you need both cables? My understanding is that the HDMI cable carried both video and audio. I have seen the offical cable on ebay (HDMI cable only) for £10 and was going to buy it.

HDMI will not carry the sound so you will need both cables but the upgrade in your picture is well worth it.

I assume that the extra connection is to plug the audio into a surround sound system if your tv doesn't have an audio output??? If that is the case, you could use your existing audio cables on your component cable while using the hdmi cable for the video? _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.
You know I have one of my 360's hooked up with hdmi and right next to it is another 360 hooked up with component cables on the same tv. And I can switch from one display to another in seconds and I have noticed no difference at all from component to hdmi except for the fact that hdmi allows one cable instead of having to plug in multiple plugs with component cables. Other then that the sound and graphics look exactly the same when comparing hdmi to component. I asked a Microsoft rep about this and he said that there really is only a little difference from component to hdmi and it really is hard to detect. So in eithier case don't buy those really expensive hdmi cables like monster ones or whatever and don't expect a major jump in picture quality eithier. That is just my opinion of course but like I said I don't really notice too much of a difference in picture quality on my hdtv. _________________________________________________________

Its not a huge difference, but there is a slight difference. If you are trying to get 5.1 Audio out of RCA (red and white) it will sound better with HDMI or optical because it is a digital signal and not analog.
As for the monster cables it is not worth it in my opinion, I picked up a no name brand 6 foot gold plated cable for 20$ and it works like a charm.
And if your TV supports full 1080p you might as well use it because on the games that are natively rendered in 1080p you will notice a difference. _________________________________________________________

I bought a HDMI cable from ebay for £6 second hand, didn't wanna spend too much. Like i said, i only wanna free up the composite for the wii and if the graphics are even slightly better, then that's a bonus.
Although, on my new tv i am able to put the composite at a resolution of 1080p now. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.

That's weird, I've never heard of that before. It must upscale the 720p or 1080i because composite cable specifications it cannot carry 1080p _________________________________________________________
