So just as an introduction, Outside of the internet i am friends with an admin that helps running this forum. I heard he is an admin so i thought i would take a look at the site that he influences. I personally am a member of a forum called PbNation. This forum has been growing steadily for many years and is now the 16th largest forum in the world. I love PbNation. One of my favourite things is the amount of people. To be honest when a forum has alot of people it just makes things smoother. Threads move along quickly and questions are always answered in minutes. Now as someone that frequents a very different forum from this one, i have plenty of suggestions of things that i like or dont about the other forums i have visited.
1. Posting pictures.
This is very similar to the other forums i have frequented but there is one thing that annoys me. There is always some sort of box around the picture. Now i know this point is maybe not a huge concern but the odd box thing is just something i notice here that i have never seen before.
Edit: after posting this i see the reason for the boxes. I put it in the post as an image and for some reason people here put it on the post as an attatchment. Sorry i just dont understand this.
2. Forums Everywhere.
Now i am not made for this forum. I am in no way an xbox modder nor do i know crap all about xboxes. But i have to say as a newbie walking onto this site the layout and amount of the forums and subforums is just absolutly rediculous. I mean honestly with the amount of traffic on this site do you REALLY need 34 forums? Here is an example.

This particular forum hasnt had a post in over 7 months, why even keep it running if hasnt helped anyone in over 7 months.
3. Forums Everywhere, continued.
Another thing i love about PBN is the first forums you see when you enter the site. They are all the most important and general forums. You will see General Paintball chat, Small Talk, News and everything right off the bat. Now i can see that you have tried to do somthing along those lines but the layout in general of the website is well pedantic. One thing that is lovely about PBN is how subforums are layed out. There is a general forum for a subject which you click on. Then it will bring you to a page with that forum as well as links to all of that forum's subforums. This makes things much less cluttered as well as focusing on the general forums.
4. Forums Everywhere, continued.
Just a little side note on the topic. As a new member i think it is extremely important that the layout is simple and easy to navigate. Being able to find what you want to know should be easy so when the locations of forums and the condensing of subforums is looked at, think about making it so that anyone in the world could navigate the site.
5. Buy Sell or Trade
One huge plus to this site would be an easy to use BST section. All you guys could swap up your parts and buy and trade games. Plus it is always nice to have a free ebay type place where you can likely trust everyone. BST is something that keeps people coming back to PBN. No matter what people never get tired of selling buying or trading paintball gear, so why not xbox parts, accessories, games, etc.
6. Quick Responce.
Once again something i use a lot on PBN. There is a box at the bottom of the page that allows you to quickly respond to something. This way you do not have to worry about loading another page to make a post, you can just type it up right there and post.
7.Advertising
I cant help but notice there is no advertising on this site. Now i know this shouldnt really be a complaint but i personally think they would be a nice addition. I dont know how this site is run but i can assume you need some income. Of course advertising is a great way to do that. Also being able to see some advertising for games i havent heard of would be interesting.
Edit: I just realized there is a small advertisement at the bottom, but honestly who even looks down there?
8. Searching
Somthing that really lacks is a usefull search function. At this point in your forums life it will probably suffice. But one thing that really grinds my gears is when a search doesnt look for what i want. Possibly having an advanced search would help, or changing one simple thing. Make it search titles as well as posts. Or have the option of searching titles or posts. But if i want to find something about forza, a topic soulely about forza should be up first not 4 other threads that have had forza mentioned. This get particularily anoying when you want to use a BST section and find a certain item for sale but all you can find is threads where people wanted the item also.(if you understand what i mean).
9. More clutter
When i click on something such as the active topics link i am brought to a page that is of course dedicated to the active topics. But it is also dedicated to news, game trailers, popular games, blogs, survey etc. Honestly if this stuff is important enough to be on the site, should it not get its own section? instead of cluttering up the active topics page?
Nitpicking
A few little things i noticed.
-Thread navigation is different to me. There is a "next" button for pages but i personally would like to have either a "last" button or both.
-Pictures in sig is neat (as you can tell from mine) but in some cases it really is anoying. Personally i think having no pictures in sigs is better. Scrolling through posts becomes a lot easier.
-Editing posts is anoying because you have to load an entirely new page to edit.
Interesting, Will keep this in mind for future updates and helping out hobbs

Ah yes, i guess this would be a slight oversight in that case. But as i said, having advertising for the forums runs almost like a news system. When something new is coming out and i possibly hadnt heard of it advertisments can bring you into the loop and possibly make you buy somethng that you want. _________________________________________________________ Hai.

thankyou so much for taking the time to comment on the site.
I will do my best to take on each and every one of your suggestions.
The site is continuously growing and has new areas every month.
So its hard to keep ontop sometimes.. But with guys posting what they want fixed it will be much easier to stay on top of things.
The forums are not coded by myself and therefore dont have as many features as the rest of the site but all in good time..

You sound to me like a egotistical insecure spoiled brat who's main goal is too trash someone elses work. Where is your webpage? And WTF is PBN? Peanut butter nation? Anyhow I just have this feeling that you are the kind of person that talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. Suggestions are appreciated but bashing someone elses hard work is not appreciated. I will try to make this clear. I in no way intended to bash someones work. Well i can say the same for you. Not only did you bash another site in your post. You also bashed the hard work i did to write up this post. I was voicing my opinion on matters that i believe could elevate the success of this site, is everything i said going to help? Probably not no. But i have to say your response is downright bullshit to me.

when i read it, it did seem a bit like an attack on the way things are done here, And that will get people's backs up.
shure there are thing's that could do with a touch up........ BUT and a big BUT..... this is about the only site of it's kind That DOSE NOT flame people AT ALL......

Alrighty. Well i just read my entire post over and im being honest when i say im not sure where the idea comes from that im bashing the site? number 9 i can see could be construed as a shot but other then that im really not sure.
Once again i want to iterate that im sorry if this was taken as a deconstructive post rather then constructive. The point was to suggest a couple things that could help make this forum better. If this input really is useless i will take it down.
