I don't usually post about hosting related topics for these sites as we do not provide hosting support outside our ticket system but I thought I would give a heads up if you see issues today on all the HQ sites.
There are some major works being done on the servers so the sites may be up and down at different times today.
Now this is not an actual problem on these forums per say but the potential to turn into databases issues exists and that could also affect these forums. So now you will know we are working on things and on a basic level what is going on. There will be no need to inform us but you may still post comments of course on this subject. Actually the gamer card thing is unrelated might have something to do with xbox.com/live.com, whatever. Forahobby can look into that later.
Other wise, the back-end changes are about to begin on this server. Yeah man the card prob is from MS's end of it, i think today is when they are doing all the updates to there site too.

No problem, Forahobby! I sort of figured it so but I really didn't expect much of a problem. I think the sites went silent for only about ten minutes and did not have to shut most services off and this in a series of updates for a period of 6 hours per server.
It went very well. I celebrated with a bottle of Belgium Ale after all done and it was good.
We're now running a 64-bit multi-threaded MySQL 5. Toot toot!
