Well im doin another X-Clamp fix, it is doing the same thing that mine did with the speeding up of the fans then shutting down, i think im gonna have to replace the clamp on the CPU as well. This one seems to only do it when i put it back into the case and screw it in.
EDIT: Ok so here are my findings about this problem with the fan speeding up then shutting down. Replace the X-Clamp on the CPU as well and tighten them until the board has just a little buldge on the back side, also drill out the holes in the case where the original screws went that screwed into the X-Clamps so the holes are big enough that the head of whatever bolts/screws you used to fit through, this will also make it easier if you have to adjust the screws while the board is screwed into the case to get it just right. _________________________________________________________

I have exactly the same problem.
I bet if you removed the mainboard from the metal shielding and connect the fans and power it will run flawlessly..
I havent been able to figure out mine either.. Im guessing i need to do a XCLAMP on the cpu.. Let me know if you have any luck mate.
I also drilled out the old holes where the little black screws were in case the new replacement screws were touching the metal and making the board flex funny causing it to mess up on me and give me them problems _________________________________________________________

This has worked twice for me so far with no problems. _________________________________________________________
