I am going to get a 360 for Christmas, and i want to mod it. Isn't there like a hard drive one, and if so, do i have to get that one? Or can i just get the cheapest, 300$ one? I heard that the 360's break a lot. If i mod it and it breaks, am i just stuck with a broken 360? Yes, i'm a total noob for this 360, but i want to be sure of some things. Ok, if i have a tv that is HD, but isn't because i haven't paid for it, will i still get HD with the 360?

Thanks

you could try searching the forums lots of info out there. so far as far as i know the elite cannot be modded. you have to moddify the firm ware in the dvd drive so research that a little. its not like the original xbox the only thing that you can do with a modded 360 is play back ups.

I wouldn't buy the elite if i was you. Id buy the premium and then mod the hdd with a 120 gig one. Its 2000 times cheaper to buy a 120 gig hdd and install it yourself then it is to buy mircosofts 120 gig. If you want to black case then buy an aftermarket case. Really the only mods worth doing to a 360 now is cooling mods (so that your console lasts longer), since firmware is getting people banned from live.

If your console gets RROD then you should send it off to an online reballer. Reballing fixes a lot of RROD problems, and best of all if they can't fix it then they only charge you shipping and handling.

I don't really care for playing Xbox Live. I just want my 360 to last and to be able to play backups just like my original xbox has.

Crap, i got an arcade and i don't have the 175 thing. But instead i have 203W.
Is it better since it has the higher number?

the lower the number the better.
If the number is 175w then the xbox 360 has the new chipset and will run much cooler then the 203w.

I just think its the luck in the boards and the chipset of course too but other things to man. I got a 360 from a bud of mine that he was playing over in iraq ok it gets well over 100 there and also point out its the very first ones that had all the problems and his never had a problem but like a lot of people are saying with the new chipset making it run cooler and that its great there finally doing this lmao and might as well put in the whisper fans or xcm fan set too while your at it lmao to make it run cooler and like you have seen were the xcm add on fan goes people cut little holes on the case and put a fan grill there just to spice it up and better air flow.

There is many guides out there right now on how to keep the 360 cold too. I know im going to be looking at the wattage for sure when i purchase my new 360 to make sure i have the newer chip set. Have any more questions about anything just ask us and we will tell thats what this site is about ha i have been through about 4 360s now lmao but soon or later i will get one that is perfect ha i know its just a dream lmao.
