Help me. Please...

The machine is about 2 years old and has always ran fine. Then yesterday, after playing for 2 minutes OR under, it just suddenly locks up. I tried rebooting it but I couldn't get past more than a few minutes. So I take out the game disc, but it freezes at the dashboard as well.

So I'm just wondering if its an overheating issue. Maybe a fan gave out somewhere?

I'm thinking about installing the XCM High Speed Air Cooler as a possible fix.

Any ideas or suggestions?

First thing i would do is take off the HDD.
Then reboot the xbox and it should still boot..

See if it freezes.. If it doesnt freeze then its the hdd.

That's the process of elimination.. Smile

Hope you figure it out man.

If that doesnt help I would try unplugging the power brick for a while and let it cool down then try it again.

If all that doesn't work, I'm thinking it might be a heatsink not making proper contact. Theres a trick that might help out. If all the sugestions so far yeild nothing let me know and ill put it up.

I dont recommend the towel trick. Good way to kill your system. Read the doc attached, its the x clamp trick, said to have produced results about 95% of the time.
