hey!
i'm getting an x360 tomorrow and i'd like to back up my games right away. my question is: do i really HAVE to use verbatim dl dvd+r + pioneer dvd-burner combo for the backups to work properly? cause here the verbatim dvds are like twice as expensive as other dl dvds.
also i have a couple of xbox1 games backed up but i don't know if they'll work on the new system (they are not on dl dvds). if they'll work and the x360 wants to update itself for backwards compatibility, can i let it do that without getting banned from live because of the flashed box?
I've never tried any other media except for Verbatim ( I personally think they are the best) for 360 backups, I'm sure other media will be fine, best thing to do would be to buy a single disc or 3 pack and see how it works. I've used several different dvd burners and never had a single issue, as long as your drive burns DL discs I bet you'll be fine.
At this point in time you can run/install the updates and play on Live just fine, but, just so you know, that won't last forever. So keep an eye on the forums. Cause if/when M$ starts banning I'll be flashing mine back and using my originals again.
