The Battle Goes on... My biggest question which no one asked yet, what are the predictions for the future of being able to either chip or softmod, and have the ability to back-up my disks so they can't get scratched???

As far as the PS3 goes. if I read and picked up the stuff inbetween the lines right, Sony is not only gonna be hard but you are gonna have the added problem with the idea that if you use their install function wich will place large files on the HDD for quicker load times then the disk will be locked and you won't be able to use it at all on any other system besides the one it is installed on. I know this is old news and people are not sure if they will use it, but I read someguy talking about it just a week or two ago from Sony's big media day here in the states. It was burried in an article about a game they were showing which supported the install function. If this is true, not only will it be very expesive to copy discs because of the hardware needed but even the original won't work in another system. what else does this mean....(NO USED GAME MARKET) as companies won't be able to check every disc they buy to guarantee that they are not locked.

i dunno not too long ago i watched people play final versions of ps3 games and to be honest they are not the great looking. maybe just becasue its the beginning but usually sony is all about making things great. but i thiknk 360 look so much better. and i dont have an hdtv and my games look better than a ps3. but thats me

I just viewed the videos on www.gametrailers.com which compare THP8 and Tigerwoods 2007 and to be honest theres not much difference.
THP8 - The grass on the concrete looks a bit better
Tigerwoods 2007 – There’s more people in the crowd.
Hardly a massive graphical leap.
Is this limited graphical detail purly down to the games being ports of 360 titles or is this the level of PS3 launch titles? _________________________________________________________

Developers have said it themselves. There is no added advantage to gaming or a gaming environment when developing on the on either. The 360 is barely scratched. Microsoft purposely held out on the development tools to fudge Sony.
PS2 vs xbox = Same game on both systems. xbox is more detailed and runs more smooth. It owns.
PS3 vs xbox 360 = Very similar power. 360 has the advantage in RAM as it can be used in a less confined way. That is all that really will make the difference. The rest will mean great games on both platforms. Let it be said that until Gears of War we were only seeing a 3rd of the power the 360 contains. With gears of war about half. SO now games will really be incredible. This is going to be the best gaming since both systems are now running head to head and they are basically gaming equals. One more tid bit is it has been expressed that it is harder to code on the PS3 for 2 reasons. One is that the development tools sucks compared to what Microsoft supplies to developers. The other is that the system it self and its architecture is difficult to utilize in an efficient manor. Of course, eventually, PS3 developers will get a handle on it's technology.
