The system is not modded, i am simply trying to play normal discs.
A kid I know asked me to look at it for him, said he had the tray replaced before and the guy charged him $80... I figured with it acting this way he shit calibrated the pots and took the $80..

smh

He got jacked, you could get a brand new drive off of eBay for $50

-Double checking to see if thats just not a repair kit-

Sounds like a laser issue because i know someone who had the same issue.

May want to wait tell someone with better experience double checks but more then likely It'd just be easier to replace it with a new drive.

You can swap out lasers but its a real pain.

Apparently Slim drives are calibrated lower than Phat..

http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69587
HDTV says, "D side 2.47 and the C side 2.71 and they are factory set"

http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69587&page=2
dragon-fly says, "started at 2.43 and started working on 1.89"

http://www.ixtreme.net/open-forum/18174-xbox-360-slim-liteon-dg16d4s-0272-laser-issue-after-replacement.html
hellspawn66628 says, "C: 2.36 & D: 2.23 (both are factory set)"

Administrators: Can we get a Calibration Page Started and Anchored to the top.. The DG-16D4S G2R2 drive is popular and in need of attention..
Possible if everyone could just post where there factory calibration is set maybe we can concur this unknown....

Yes he can order a new laser, but before messing with the drive I strongly recommend him to dump the dvd key so in case something goes wrong he can install a replacement.

Sounds like crap. First plug it to the PC and grab the Key.

Then replace it, I would replace it with an xk3y

PS: If you like your eyes, never look directly to the laser
