Okay, so, I'm new to the whole Xbox power user thing. Basically, what I want to do is transfer some of my old room mate's save files to him, without buying that stupid HDD copy kit. I can connect to my Xbox on my PC, but all it will let me do so far is play music, movies, etc. on my T.V. I have an Xbox 360 Elite, with the most recent Dashboard updates applied.
Thanks in advance!

Can you explain the situation better. Do you have his xbox hard drive with your profile and his old profile and you want to give him the profile?
Has he made a new profile elsewhere and has a profile on your xbox also, and you just want to move the saves from his old profile to his new profile?
If one of those is the case, as far as i know you have to move them via your pc (connecting the hard drive directly to the pc). You can take the case off the hard drive and connect the hard drive via sata to your pc motherboard.
If you just want to move the profile, you could use a usb stick and move the profile to that (think there is an option) and then plug the usb stick into your mates xbox and then on there transfer it again to his hard drive.
Hope that makes sense. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.

He has an Xbox Live profile he used on my Xbox to save games to my HDD. He has since recovered the profile onto his new, Kinect ready Xbox, and wants to get some of the saves onto his own HDD. I haven't taken the case off the HDD yet. That never actually occurred to me. How difficult/dangerous is this? Are there any special tools I should buy/make? Once I connect it into my PC, it should recognize it and allow me to get at the data, right? Then it's just a matter of dragging it over and e-mailing it to him?
Thanks again!

It's not difficult to take apart, and inside is just a laptop hard drive (2.5 sata). You will need a program like 360xplorer i think it's called, but one specific to the size of your hard drive.
Think you have to do something to the saves before transferring them, but someone else will have to help you there as i'm not sure on that. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.
