I think that has a lot to do with the new camera, so that you could take a picture of yourself, and use that one only friends could see. Which means that they probably aren't signed by Microsoft, and leaves possibility for custom ones from a PC to be made, maybe, I really don't know. I think the possibility is there though.

You could be right on the cam picture thats for sure crash. It would be very nice to create your own gamer picture, not sure if they will let us do that yet tho. Crying or Very sad

I think it's someone famous, looks like a scene from a movie, but it must be a downloadable one, because they said the custom gamerpics would only be available to be seen by friends. I doubt they would bypass that and let the pics also be seen online. I think since the personal gamerpics will be friends only, it wouldn't really have a way to be on the web, because it wouldn't be stored on a MS server. Again, everything I say on this topic is pure speculation, mainly because I don't fully understand how the gamerpics work. I'm going to try and find where a personal pic is placed and then try to add a special on the hard drive.

Also, found out about a clear cache function on the 360 dashboard. I haven't tried this yet because I'm at work, but here are the instructions I found on MaxConsole. I will test and verify as soon as I get home in about an hour.

Quote:
Clear Cache Function In 360 Dasboard Update

The Official 360 dashboard may have introduced 125 new functions but here's one perhaps they didn't feel was big enough to class - a clear cache function. When you're at the 360 blades, select memory, press Y on the HDD or a memory unit, then press X, X and the left trigger, right trigger, X, X. You will then be presented with a pop up which says this will perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 and will ask you if you wish to continue. If you want to clear the cache say yes, if not say no! Thanks to Marcus Kilpatrick and Jerry Lagerel who sent this tip in.

I'm on MaxConsole and 360-Hq pretty much constantly. Try to stay up on things.

I tried out that little item and it did bring up the menu. When I played any of my games next, it did take about the same amount of time as the first time I played them, just to preload certain items. It also helped with an Oblivion glitch I had been having. So that's definitely good to know.

I still could not find any picture or profile hobbs, all i see is a calender.. But i think I know what picture your on about, if it is the one i've seen it Jack Black. Smile

It looks like that Clear Cache thing does work. Although I found it was X, X, LB, RB, X, X.. Rather than the trigger buttons. Smile

I had a weird thing when I tried to fire up the ol' 360 this evening. For the life of me the controller would not startup the 360. Only the controller itself, I had to power up from the console, switch off and then it would work again. Confused

This has never happened before, now I was thinking it could have been that Clear Cache thingy that might have freaked it out as this is the first time i've used my 360 since doing it this morning or it could be pure fluke. Razz

Fancy testing that out on your 360 crash? I'll test it out later and see if it happens again.

I actually had the same problem with my controller before the update, about a month ago. What fixed mine was to resync the controller with the 360. Never had a problem since that. I don't know what exactly caused it or anything. My console fired up fine with the controller after the update and a couple turn offs. I will try it again later though, just to make sure. Never hurts to test.

I'm getting ready to add this to a news post but I have found out about the personal gamerpic that came with the new update. Apparently it doesn't have to be one taken with the camera. I haven't been able to find out if you can get pictures from your PC on there yet, but give it time. Once we find out where the personal gamerpics are stored, wont be a problem at all. I'm actually going to play with a couple things tonight on my hard drive to see if I can move a picture over to different areas and have the 360 pick it up for available Personal Picture.

This is a great update! The main thing I like is the new download features. I was always annoyed before when you could not do anything when downloading.

Now I want them let us store pictures on the harddrive instead of just viewing them from exteral devices.
