Nice man,
The gov has no right to ask you anything other than how many people in your household, they only need a number so they know how many representatives to elect to represent your area. Anything beyond that such as Race, Religion, how much money you make, or anything is none of their business.
On race, I put "AMERICAN US CITIZEN" for each member of the household.
