im building a new computer to play games and stuff and ive come down to what im buying it might be a little overkill but hey who cares it mine lol. all i id like to see is your comments on the stuff in side and the case.
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition Processor which runs at a 3.20 ghz which for a quad is beast and on amd website they have a computer that was overclocked with dragon tech at 6.2 ghz which is super over kill if you ask me lol.
Cooler Master HAF 932 Full Tower Black Case which seems to be a very popular case in gaming now lol.
Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EADS - 2TB, 32MB Cache
EVGA GeForce GTS 250 Video Card - 1024MB GDDR3, PCI Express 2.0, (2) Dual Link DVI, SLI Ready ok the video cards are the over kill im running two of these in sli mode which is super overkill i think
and Corsair TX750W 750-Watt Power Supply
Corsair Dominator GT Tri Channel 6144MB PC16000 DDR3 2000Mhz Memory which is 6 gb of ram lol and thats it with a 64 bit windows ultimate.
Well I'm sad to hear your going AMD and that your only getting GTS 250's. All your getting is a geforce 9800 GTX+ that has been remade to use less power and create less heat.
As I've said ever since I got my new PC, at least get a GTX 260 for the $20 extra. You will get a next gen card that is much better. _________________________________________________________

Core i7. That's all I have to say lol _________________________________________________________
AMD is just as good as Intel....don't believe the hype behind Intel processors. If you do the actual math there isn't much difference between the two company's processors. It's kinda like the difference between Honda and Toyota. If you are a preppy wannabe then you are going to have to have a Honda because that is the popular brand. But smart people know the Toyota is just as good. Anyhow I have used both processors and have plenty of genius computer friends that will tell you that AMD is just as good as Intel. I agree with them wholeheartedly. If you want to go out and spend a insane amount of money on a Intel processor then by all means knock yourself out but if you want a workhorse processor that will be there for the long run then AMD is the way to go. That is just my opinion and you can take it or leave it. _________________________________________________________

Firs off dude, "There is no such thing as overkill in a PC", no way no how!
I am not familiar with every piece of equipment you listed but it sounds pretty sweet so far, One suggestion I would make, since you are looking forward to gaming and want great performance I would suggest using a solid state drive to run your games and programs like photo and video stuff and using HDD for storage and everything else. A SSD solid state drive is going to be light years faster than a HDD in reading and writing info! which can make load times seem like a thing of the past. I will be using only SSD (solid state drives) in my next gaming PC. The SSDs as of now go up to like 256GB in capacity but I would never even be able to fill one of those, and they work great in raid 0, if you want to use multiples which would make your pc so much more faster, you will think it is on Meth.
Do not forget to post back with what you end up with in you PC and some stats on how it runs for you when you are done.
Basic discription of a SSD, as he says you can buy even smaller ones intentionaly so you can raid them together and get super fast.
And check this video out, looks like there is no limit on how many you can raid 0 together .....
well that is true but i still say if your gonna overclock the processsor amd phenom is the way to go its clocked out at a 6.1 ghz and lasts for ever unlike the i7 i will wear and tear at an i7 and it will be nothing in 2 years with amd it was meant to take that wear and tear. to last forever unlike intell. and rebel is right intell has a huge fan base but its not allways the best and by far not the cheapest which is what people want now days like me [/quote]
