Guess what? I accidentaly shake my External Hard drive. What happen, the Spindle motor jam.
Ok, no big deal you have warranty? Yes I do but I want the data... those hundrands of gigas are part of my life, It is all my games, videos, music, safe copies... If I lose it, part of my life dies.
I took off the seals and gave it to store hoping they may fix it withou out asking for an austronomic price.
I was saving money for an new 360, now I'll have to use it to save my data.
Jezz fuck external HDDs... What a bad luck I am having this year... What next? Laptop? Car? health? Goddam _________________________________________________________

Dude, i totally know what you mean. I used to only have a 500gb external that i used to work on the sites with and download.. It crashed and i lost everything.. i was so pissed to.. Months & months of downloading and work...
Hope you get it fixed without the huge pricetag man..
I ended up purchasing myself a LINUX NAS Server which i much more reliable.. Supports backup to USB etc too..

Yah it was a Seagate, the website where I found it was the splinder motor says it is very comun in this crapy HDD.
Looks likes replacing a motor is extremely hard and requir a clean Lab to do it.
There is only one chance which is putting the HDD in the freezer and then try to coonect it again. With the cold so parts squez and the plates may rotate again.
Plus even If put everything back and seals Imoga says in its website that damage caused by "accident, misuse, abuse, exposure of media to excess magnetic fields, or external environmental causes." Basacly everything.
Hobbs did you know that in the same this happen I went to my garage to grab my old desktop and planning to transform it in a NAS Server or similar.
Looks like I am not the first unlocky guy here in HQs... Sorry to here that Hobbs and violent365.
I guess I must face the fact that I lost almost a year of downloads, backups and works.
I am talking about gigas of Adobe After Effects projects, very important backups which I do before formating the computer, a huge colection of FSX add-ons (some made by me), 360 and PC games, movies (some not scene realsed) Tutorials that I made and didnt upload, and I just remember now, I had 30 gigas of amazing porn ... What a shame mates.
Thanks for the support...

my advice bro is to steer way clear of seagate exernal hard-drives they get too hot and pretty much burn up ive seen nothing but bad reviews for them along with the bad review im giving the 800 f'n gigs gone 1/2 year of music and vids and to seagate cut some damn vents in your external hardrives to allow cooling

You bet bro... Seagate sucks so much... I am already looking to buy a new HDD non-seagate of course.
Thats truth those external boxes sucks... no vents whatsoever, I have an old IDE box very cheapy one and it has a vent in the front.
Hobbs did you bought your NAS server or you mount it yourself? _________________________________________________________
