the past week my xbox has been acting up alot. every time i put a game in it says reading than it says open tray. i tryed everything i could thing of but nothing seems to work.Does anyone know what is wrong with it? _________________________________________________________
It sounds like your laser is going out to me. You should send it into microsoft if you still have your warrenty. If you you can put a new dvd drive in it or you can buy a replacement laser.
With my old samsung drive I bought a new laser and it worked like a charm. Easy to install, but its up to you. _________________________________________________________

just an up date i opend my xbox up just now and opend the disk drive and turned it on and the disk ant sping... can this be a problem with the gears?? _________________________________________________________
It wont spin because its not finding a disc in the tray. If you tell me what type of drive you have I can give you a link for a laser. _________________________________________________________
